In use since 1854, major restoration in the late 1980s saw the Princess Theatre reopen in 1989 capable of providing the technology modern shows demand. Its ornate façade is in keeping in with the surrounding area that includes, nearby, the historic Windsor Hotel. The Princess is yet another of the theatres in Melbourne that show her English roots.
