Specialty beers brewed on site |
2120 Madison Avenue Memphis, TN 38104 United States +1 901 432 2222 http://www.boscosbeer.com/ |
This brewpub features several beers made on site, including Boscos Flaming Stone Beer, concocted using traditional German brewing techniques that give the beer its unique caramel character. Also on tap are India Pale Ale, Scottish Ale and various seasonal offerings. The specialty pizzas, such as the vegetarian, barbecue chicken, and New York and Santa Fe varieties, are the best bets. Pastas, sandwiches, salads and grill items are also available. The Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the battered and fried calamari appetizers are especially good. The pub atmosphere offers casual dining plus an outdoor patio. On the weekend, try the Sunday jazz brunch. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Micro-brewery and steaks |
7065 Winchester Road Memphis, TN 38125 United States +1 901 752 1330 |
This microbrewery offers a fine selection of beers, but the real standout here is the food. The steaks are top-notch, the oversized salads are crisp, fresh and not watery, and the homemade bleu cheese dressing is among the best in town. The wait staff is friendly, although service may be a bit slow during busy dinner times. If you're not hungry, the bar is still a nice place to stop for a beer after work. Park your car along the side of the building. There is plenty of free parking, and the entrance is on the side. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Pool, outside deck and trivia games |
603 Monroe Avenue (between Marshall and South Lauderdale) Memphis, TN 38103 United States +1 901 525 4924 |
This slightly grungy pub attracts patrons with its pool table and its outdoor, tree-shaded deck. Wednesday nights pull in professors and graduate students from the university, along with the usual crowd, for the Kudzu Pub Quiz, a trivia contest in which the questions get more obscure as the beer flows more freely. Regular teams compete for the pride of winning, but anyone is welcome to join in. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The place to be |
183 Beale Street Memphis, TN 38103 United States +1 901 522 9596 http://www.silkyosullivans.com |
Silky O'Sullivan's is a place for those who enjoy their alcohol. The daringly different concoctions of drinks will keep your head spinning - the variety is mind boggling. You can try the Screaming Margarita or the Boll Weevil, and if you want to keep it light, go for the Irish Coffee. Make sure you eat something beforehand - you can dig into the Memphis Style Ribs or the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. This is an ideal entertainment spot as it hosts performances by artists, and also caters for special occasions and parties. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Beer and blues in an Irish setting |
362 North Main Street (Between Jackson and Overton) Memphis, TN 38103 United States +1 901 523 1453 http://cordova@tjmulligans.com |
This Pinch District pub is sort of memorial to the Irish immigrants who settled in this area. Enjoy a good selection of beer in the old, dark wood interior and with Irish memorabilia on the walls. Live music on the weekends brings in a wide variety of customers, all ready to have a good time. The menu features Irish Beef Stew and Potato soup, along with juicy 1/2 pound hamburgers.
