Friendly neighborhood shop |
7505 Highway 64 Suite 102 Memphis, TN 38133 United States +1 901 266 4313 |
Situated in the corner of a strip mall, this small store has a full selection of liquors. The wine selection is good, with an emphasis on popular, inexpensive choices. You will find mostly domestic labels represented, but a few imports also round out the selections. This is a neighborhood shop, not a warehouse store, with a friendly staff that is ready to help the inexperienced customer. The stock is well presented on easy-to-view shelves with plenty of room to move about. For the person not looking for something out of the ordinary, the service and convenience makes this a good choice. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Wine super store |
8057 Highway 64 At Germantown Parkway Memphis, TN 38133 United States +1 901 266 3211 |
Wide aisles and an almost warehouse-size selection are the hallmarks of this brightly lit store. It is situated in the heart of Memphis' newest and most popular shopping area, across the street from the Wolfchase Galleria Mall. Large signs identify wines by country—Australia, Italy, France and also by type—dessert, merlot, chardonnay. One entire wall of the store is occupied by a refrigerator case filled with numerous wines. You will find a small, but varied selection of liquors including the famous Tennessee whiskey, Jack Daniels. This is basically a wine supermarket, modern and well lighted, with a cashier on duty. If you just want lunch, pick up individual portions of pasta and sauce, or salad and a muffaletta and take it to the park for a picnic. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Neighborhood shop with good selection |
3705 Malco Way (Suite 108) Memphis, TN 38115 United States +1 901 757 2822 |
Located right in the middle of a busy shopping center in Hickory Hill, this little neighborhood shop has a good selection of wines. While the selections tend toward the more popular labels, you can also find a nice variety of reds, whites, blushes and sparkling wines. Most of the wines are domestic, but you will find a diverse sampling from most European wine regions. The liquor selection also emphasizes popular brands but will still satisfy most customers. The small staff is friendly and willing to answer customer questions. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Peanuts, peanuts and more peanuts |
24 South Main Street Mall (between Union and Madison) Memphis, TN 38103 United States +1 901 525 1115 |
This location is the original Mr. Peanut, complete with glasses and cane. Look for him in the window of this shop along the trolley line—he's been here since 1951, when the shop opened. Inside, you will find peanuts in every form you can imagine—in chocolate candy, peanut brittle, in the shell—as well as in some forms you have probably never encountered. You can also buy other kinds of nuts here, from pecans to pistachios. If you are not in the mood for nuts, try some of the popcorn from the old-time movie popcorn machine. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Pies to die for sold here |
5068 Park Avenue Eastgate Shopping Center Memphis, TN 38117 United States +1 901 761 0743 |
You can enjoy the store's namesake "Poconut Pie" - a combo of potato and coconut - along with more than a dozen other varieties, including Granny's Chess Pie and Kentucky Derby Bourbon Pie. But, the piece de resistance of the bakery is its "Slap Yo' Mama Chocolate Pie," creamy, chocolate with a thin veil of meringue and just a hint of peanut butter. Most varieties are in stock daily, but to be safe, order 48 hours in advance for special occasions. Decorated pie-style cakes are available for birthdays and showers (must advance order).
