United States

Now in great condition and at a fair price, Melrese is located adjacent to Maimi International Airport and accessible from all points. Golfers vote Melreese as a top course in Maimi not for its amenities, but for the caliber of golf provided, as many county championships are played there. Rolling northern style fairways predominate the beautiful 135 acre golf course. Large undulating greens average 6500 square feet. The greens are considered to be among the best putting surfaces in the area. Melrese has 97 bunkers, 4 waste bunkers, 6 acres of water and it has fairways with rolling hills and bunkers of pure white sand.

Unlike many of South Florida's state parks, Barnacle is centrally located and easily accessible by automobile. Just off a main street in trendy Coconut Grove, this five-acre historic site offers visitors a glimpse into a past full of beauty and luxury. This stately structure was originally the home of Ralph Middleton Munroe, a landowner and yacht enthusiast who hailed from New York. Before and after Munroe's passing, pains were taken to assure that the property reflected south Florida's culture and blossoming heritage. Guests can tour Munroe's home or explore the lush land outside. Celebrate the 4th of July here, as annual festivities are held.

Built in 1825, this 95-foot lighthouse is the oldest building in south Florida. It originally guided sailors through the dangerous waters along the Straits of Florida. Although it was removed from service many times during various wars, it has weathered the years extraordinarily well. The US Coast Guard has used it as a navigational device for the past 25 years. The lighthouse is part of Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Guests can take guided tours, explore by themselves, or relax in the open-air Lighthouse Café.

Formerly known as "The Links at Key Biscayne" Crandon Park Golf Course is a championship 18-hole golf course located on the "island paradise" of Key Biscayne, just 10 minutes from downtown Miami. It is the only public course on the Bay. Designed in 1972 by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, and redesigned by von Hagge in 1993, the course features the world's largest tee, seven saltwater lakes, challenging sand traps, mangrove thickets, and many holes overlooking Biscayne Bay. The fairways are wide and generous, and the greens are large and medium speed. Water hazards (lakes, canals, and the bay) have been incorporated into the designs of over half the holes. "Golf Digest" chose the course 39th in the category of "Top 75 Public Courses" for 1990, and 62nd in the same category for 1996. It was also selected by the same publication as the 22nd "Best in State" course for 1997-98.

Part of the gym's philosophy involves accepting people who are far from flawless and making them feel comfortable. The service is very friendly, down-to-earth, and helpful. Classes include aero sculpting, dance, and yoga. Call and set up an appointment for a tour and membership fee quote.

http://www.teebone.com/coursep...
Just 25 minutes south of Fort Lauderdale Airport and 15 minutes from South Beach, this 18-hole championship classic layout was built in 1936 by famed architect Red Laurence. Small, well-bunkered and contoured greens provide exciting rounds for all golfers. Bob Hope, Joe DiMaggio, Arnold Palmer, and Sam Sneed have graced the lush fairways. The front nine calls for precise approach shots into small greens. The second nine places more of an emphasis on tee shots. If you don't hit it straight off the tee on the back nine, you are in for a long day.

This is a great place for children ages 9-17 to spend a day. The center's two levels include an ice-skating rink, bowling alleys, gym equipment, a basketball court, and a series of organized events. The best thing for parents is that the center provides full-time supervision. The best thing for kids is that adults are not allowed to participate in any of the events, except on Sunday, which is Family Day.

And so get ready for an informal trip, sans the fancy airs of huge cruise liners. There are no set rules in terms of time or place. Your vehicle of transport would be one of the twins—SeaDream I or SeaDream II. The seven day cruise, oops! yachting experience departs and arrives on schedule. Daily visits to ports in the meanwhile are quite flexible.

South Florida Boxing

Serious South Beach fitness
715 Washington Avenue
Miami, FL 33139
United States
+1 305 672 8262
The philosophy here, centers on using the theories and techniques of the boxing workout for fitness, not fighting. While many professional and semi-pro boxers come to work out, there are plenty of beginners as well. Staff invite newcomers to take one class for free, just to try things out. Given the success of the gym, one would think that things (and people) work out rather well most of the time.

Coral rocks and Italian inspired gardens beautifully surround this glamorous 1920's spring-water bather's heaven. Westview Country Club

Narrow course in great shape
2610 Northwest 119th Street
Miami, FL 33167
United States
+1 305 685 2411
http://www.westviewcountryclub...
The fairways at Westview are collared by thick, mature trees that have a nasty habit of being very intrusive. It is a classic narrow course with quick compact greens. These small greens are defended by a generous number of sand traps. Nine holes are influenced by water. There is one par 4 of significant length; the remainder is quite short, and quite claustrophobic. You will need to be accurate. This course was designed by Mark Mahannah in 1956. This is a private golf course; soft spikes only.
