Homestyle Cuban Cuisine |
4612 S LeJeune Road Miami, FL 33146 United States +1 305 661 2622 http://www.havanaharrysmiami.com |
Havana Harry's is located on a busy street, but once inside the crowds seem to disappear. It is kid-friendly, roomy and airy with large windows. The home-style food includes many favorites. Excellent choices include fried pork loin chunks in a sautéed garlic and grilled onions "mojo," and the "malanga" (rich vegetable) soup. The signature sauces that accompany the meat, chicken, fish or pork dishes, are tasty and light. Main entrees come with a variety of side dishes: rice, black beans, "mariquitas" (green plantain chips), fried ripe plantains, or yucca (fried or boiled). Portions are generous- enough for two. Deserts are homemade and much better than expected, especially the warm chocolate cake, rich flans and puddings. Service is friendly, prompt and very relaxed. You can buy their sauces to take home. For authentic Cuban food, this restaurant is one of the best in Miami. -Mercedes de Marchena Review © 2007, Wcities |

Peanuts anyone? |
7199 Southwest 117th Avenue Miami, FL 33183 United States +1 305 274 4696 |
Roadhouse Grill, a rowdy eatery with a casual, barn-like atmosphere is quite a change of pace. Country music rings through the air, a tin bucket of shelled peanuts stands at every table, and patrons are not expected to keep their surroundings tidy at all. So let those shells fall where they may. As for the food (from USD5.95), fresh and flavorful are two words that immediately come to mind. At USD7.95, the grilled chicken (sandwich or platter) is a standout. This is an enjoyable outing for "kids of all ages." Review © 2007, Wcities |

Recently established just south of The Falls, this new restaurant features wonderful "all-you-can-eat" buffets for lunch on weekdays and breakfast on weekends. A children's menu is also available. Appetizers include Fried Calamari, creamy New England Clam Chowder and Steamed Mussels in Seasoned Broth. Entrees are served in generous portions. The Seafood Pasta is a standout, as is the tasty Grilled Honey-Glazed Salmon. The unusual yet pleasing decor, the informal, family-oriented atmosphere, and the friendly staff make this an ideal choice when dining with youngsters. Due to its proximity to the Quality Inn, Snappers mainly attracts tourists. Review © 2007, Wcities |
