If you think there is nothing sexier than crumbs in bed, this is the place for you. The menu varies each night with a choice of four appetizers, four main courses and four desserts. Nestled into the walls of the room are platforms covered with giant mattresses and six or eight large pillows, with egg-white chiffon drapery. The wait staff is dressed in elegant, billowy white shirts and flowing white pants. A movie screen shows psychedelic videotronics to the tune of Ravel's Bolero and new age music.

Bouchon du Grove

Tres charmant
3430 Main Highway
Miami, FL 33133
United States
+1 305 448 6060
This is a charming French eatery in every sense boasting fabulous food, friendly service, and a warmly decorated interior. The walls are painted a bright yellow, and French doors open onto the sidewalk. Although you might be tempted to indulge in rich entrees and appetizers, you will thank yourself later for saving room. Desserts are extremely tempting. Mouthwatering Duck Paté is a delicious starter for your meal. Fresh fish, Chicken en Papillote, and Peppercorn Steak are a few of the available entrees. You will not want to leave without trying one of the freshly prepared desserts. The atmosphere is not stuffy, but you willfeel more comfortable if you change out of your beach clothes.

Brasserie Les Halles

Paris bistro, Miami style
2415 Ponce de Leon Boulevard
Miami, FL 33134
United States
+1 305 461 1099
http://www.leshalles.net/
This is a French restaurant that is serious about French food and culture; they go all out for Bastille Day, with special menus, games, and activities. February is "Choucroute" month. The menu even offers "Amuse-gueules," a casual way of saying "appetizers." Everything you would expect from a Parisian bistro is here including Steak au Poivre, Salade Niçoise, and Confit de Canard, all for around USD15-25. The atmosphere too, is left-bank casual.

Cafe Des Arts

A little bit of everything
1360 Collins Avenue
Miami, FL 33139
United States
+1 305 535 8247
At first glance, it is hard to tell whether this cozy little cafe is primarily French, Italian or American. Guests may choose to dine on the patio, which allows for a great view of the Miami Beach crowd. Although you may prefer lasagna or escargot, the restaurant also serves a number of excellent salads. Cafe Des Arts also serves both French (croissants and coffee) and American breakfasts.

Cafe Pastis

French soul food
7310 Red Road
Miami, FL 33155
United States
+1 305 665 3322
Whether intentionally or not, the owners seem to have patterned their cafe after the charming cafe in travel writer Peter Mayle's book Hotel Pastis. Picturesque and charming, it brings a bit of southern France into southern Florida. The service is extremely friendly and helpful.Recommended dishes include steamed mussels for $12.95, rack of lamb for $18.50, and duck breast in black currant sauce for $14.50. Other bistro classics, such as onion soup and escargot are also served.

Café de France

Cozy bistro, generous portions
227 13th Street
Miami, FL 33139
United States
+1 305 672 8169
You will not get a whole lot of attitude at this cozy little neighborhood bistro, a welcome change from the general SoBe scene. French favorites, in unusually generous portions, make up the bill of fare. Salads are enough for an entire meal, as are the omelets. Steaks are delicious. The early bird special is a prix fixe menu for only USD9.95 (5p-8p), while the most expensive prix fixe (with wine) is USD20.95. The breakfasts here are some of the most inventive in town. Comfortable, unpretentious decor draws a mellow local crowd.

This is not an easy place to find, but it's worth the extra effort to discover. A favorite lunch spot in downtown Miami's Design District, it's a great place for a quick meal while checking out the shops frequented by interior decorators. There are two floors of comfortable and private dining space. The menu features a number of French staple items (such as pate and salad Niçoise), as well as Florida specialties (mainly fresh seafood). Be sure to ask about the daily specials.

Great news for all those residing in, or visiting Bal Harbour—La Goulue Bal Harbor is here to delight all patrons. Make a trip to this French style brasserie, serving up typically bistro fare. The interiors have a 1900's Parisian feel of to it. You can also choose to dine alfresco. The chef dishes out fresh seafood and other French delicacies. Feast on the likes of calamars a la plancha, onglet aux cchalottes and for dessert go for the chocolate souffle and pistachio anglasie. Mmmm...does that sound yummy or what!

Provencal

French lite
382 Miracle Mile
Miami, FL 33134
United States
+1 305 448 8984
http://www.leprovencalrestaura...
As much as we all love the butter and cream that make French cooking famous, it is nice to know that there is an equally delicious alternative. Le Provencal provides all the extravagance and flavor without the guilt. You will find a lot of herbs and savory vegetables used in most dishes for flavor. It is hard to resist the Bouillabaisse, a seafood soup made with various fish and shellfish, served with toasted rounds of French bread. As with many Coral Gables restaurants, there is an upscale crowd here. The atmosphere is comfortable, though, and made more so by warmly personable service.

Provence Grill

Fabulous, affordable French
1001 South Miami Avenue
Miami, FL 33130
United States
+1 305 373 1940
This restaurant is a rarity with its delicious French cuisine for reasonable prices. Provence Grill is located in a downtown dining area made up almost exclusively of Italian restaurants. Homemade pate is an authentic and delicious starter. Entrees include meat, fish, and pasta dishes. Do not fill up too much; the chocolate mousse is positively sinful. The atmosphere is fairly sophisticated here, and the crowd tends to be somewhat mature. Do not dress down.

Restaurant St. Michel

New Renaissance cuisine
162 Alcazar Avenue
Miami, FL 33134
United States
+1 305 446 6572
This American kitchen is in its second life; after being destroyed in a 1995 fire, the restaurant was recovered and is now in sparkling condition. Most dishes are French-influenced including Pate served with Onion Relish, Duckling in Caramelized Orange Sauce, and other decadent classics. For dessert, chocolate soufflé is a must. The dining room is elegant and refined; be certain to reserve in advance. The glowing light of chandeliers and soft live piano music create a four-star experience.

Choose from a selection of meats, cheeses, or vegetable fillings. You can also order pate, croissants, and delicious salads.
