One of the most beautiful places in Milan |
6 Via Porrone Bassano Milan, Milan 20121 Italy +39 2 8699 6565 / +39 340 282 3830 (Mobile) http://www.labanque.it/ |
This new disco is located within an antique branch of a bank right in the centre of Milan. The austerity of the place contradicts the richness of the furnishings that make the bar very refined and elegant. Among columns, period marble and wood panelling, there is space for the bar, a restaurant and a disco all drawn out of the old bank vault. The bar is frequented by people of all kinds and types, by younger people at the aperitif hour, by older people for the restaurant and disco. However, all are looking for and are after the models and women of every kind along the rose marble staircase that leads to the marvellous vault turned disco rich with paintings, re-productions, precious objects, and fire red drapery. The ostentatious and rich surroundings, can be classed among the most beautiful bars of Milan without, however, being sure to be able to frame it among the 'chic' type bars. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Breakfast, aperitifs and after dinner drinks |
39 Via Plinio Milan, Milan 20129 Italy +39 2 2940 0580 http://www.barbasso.com/ |
One of Milan's historic bars and a classic venue for breakfast. Two different rooms, one in 19th-century style, the other more informal. The Mangia e Bevi (food and drink) is also historical, based on Zabaglione, chocolate, brandy or fruit. Besides unusual cocktails, there are rolls, tarts for aperitifs and after dinner. New York-style bar |
42 Viale Umbria Milan, Milan 20135 Italy +39 2 1 9911 1111 http://www.cafeatlantique.com/ |
Designed by young Milanese architects, this is one of Milan's most fashionable café-bars where the smart set comes to see and be seen. Its eye-catching décor - a mishmash of cyber café and late Baroque - is all part of its trendy appeal while the menu offers a combination of classic Italian (Risottos, steaks, salads) and American fare (Pancakes and Syrup, Muffins). Brunch is served on Sundays under the dome. At night, the line is tough; dress for it. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fashionable disco |
15 Corso Como Milan 20154 Italy +39 2 659 8996 |
Rub shoulders with Milans fashion glitterati in one of the most happening night spots on the Milan club scene. Do not be put off by the queues at the door or the club's strict entrance policy; this might not be one of the easiest of places to get into, but it's well-worth the effort. Inside it is a bit of a squeeze - not that anyone is complaining about it! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Beware of the plastic! |
120 Viale Umbria Milan, Milan 20135 Italy +39 2 73 3996 http://www.thisisplastic.com/ |
The Plastic is one of the most unconventional and entertaining discos in Milan. This attractive disco can be seen right from the entrance. It is up to you to decide and verify if this is true as long as you are not intimidated and startled by the eccentric personalities that are sometimes found at the entrance and who perform the so-called "entry selection". Hoping that the "Saint Peter" on duty lets you pass, the surroundings that welcome you will repay you for the potential line-up. The surroundings and furnishings are reminiscent of the suspicious premises that are frequented by police officers in the well-known American televisions series Miami Vice. Mirrors, candelabrum on the walls, diffused lights paired with warm colours, are found in the first room of the disco along with the bar. In the first of the two dance floors, the music is decidedly "acid" but the space tends to be sufficiently ample to allow dancers to freely "let go". The second room is private and it is not always possible to enter. In any case, it is worth the wait since this door also opens to allow you to see the best of the Plastic. In fact, this room with both dance floor and bar, changes from year to year according to fashion. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Great live music |
49 Via Cardinale Ascanio Sforza Milan, Milan 20136 Italy +39 2 8940 2874 http://www.scimmie.it/ |
Quality jazz, blues, rock and fusion all feature on this well-known live music venue's program. Get here early, though; tables fill up quickly and it is often standing room only in this popular club. Drinks are available at the bar and the club restaurant situated in a small dining area away from the music serves good, reasonably priced food. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Saturday Night Fever |
Bastioni di Porta Nuova 10 Milan 20121 Italy +39 02 6291 0156 http://www.shockingclub.net/ |
With its vast interior and immense dance floors this 1970s-style disco-bar right out of Saturday Night Fever gives budding John Travolta's ample space to strut their stuff. From lighting to furnishings, the club offers an oasis of seventies kitsch that proves popular with models, beaux in tow; especially during Milan fashion week. Review © 2007, Wcities |
