Billed as the Halloween Capital of the World, Anoka sponsors perhaps the largest parade celebrating the spooky holiday. The streets of this suburb, located just 20 minutes north of downtown Minneapolis, are jammed with some 50,000 spectators on the Saturday before Halloween, enjoying an entire day festivities. The mammoth parade features numerous brightly decorated floats, fire trucks, high school marching bands, clowns and scary costumed characters.
