This is one of the hottest spots on the Grand Avenue stretch of hot spots. The large round-about bar is fun to sit at – catch a bit of the street scene through large windows or just watch the little train go around the top of the bar. The dining area is split up into varying levels of nooks and alcoves. The menu is righteous southern fare, dominated by fried and barbecued offerings with varying degrees of success. You can get a monstrous combo platter of ribs and chicken or chops, or lighten up with chicken-fried steak, jambalaya, or just plain red beans and rice. A large selection of sandwiches and burgers is offered for the less hearty. Sunday brunch is a traditional affair with smoked meats, cornbread stuffing and more. The bar serves a vast array of domestic and import beers, liqueurs, and cocktails. The large space fills up quickly any night of the week, but especially on the weekends.
