Known for its old-fashioned booths and gaudy, red crushed velour upholstery, this is a combination 1950s lounge, fun-loving piano bar and host to rip-roaring polka bands. As the unofficial gateway to the ethnic Minneapolis Nordeast, the crowd is a mixture of old regulars and young hipsters looking for a new experience. The legendary Ruth Adams Polka Band normally plays the small dance room, but the crowds come to hear Lou Snider in the piano bar.
