Como Lakeside Pavilion

New life for an old favorite
1360 North Lexington Parkway
Minneapolis, MN 55104
United States
+1 651 488 4920
http://www.comopark.com/pavili...
Located on the eastern edge of Como Park, this old favorite has graced the shore of Como Lake for more than 100 years. Less than ten years ago, it underwent a complete renewal. It had been boarded up and steadily declining throughout the 1980s. The structure was actually torn down and completely rebuilt, though it has the same design as before. On its wide veranda stage overlooking the lake, free concerts and plays are offered during the summer months. The building houses Black Bear Crossings on the Lake, meeting rooms and banquet facilities. In the summer, paddle boats and canoes are available for rental use on the small lake.

Dakota Restaurant & Jazz Club

Live Jazz, Local Food
1010 Nicollet Avenue S
Minneapolis, MN 55403
United States
+1 612 332 1010

This classy bar and grill has been a pioneer among local restaurants by offering regional, home-produced food. This casually chic establishment has evolved into the best place to hear local and national jazz acts. An intimate stage separates the bar from the dining room. The acoustics are considered some of the best in the Upper Midwest. The trout comes from a Wisconsin farm and local game fowl, mushrooms, and wild rice are featured. It is all put together with the utmost care and a lot of imagination. The wine (including some by local wineries) beer and liquor selection are impeccable.

Fasika

Generous Portions, Interesting Food
510 N. Snelling
Minneapolis, MN

Fasika has developed a loyal following because of its large portions, excellent prices, and exotic cuisine. The charbroiled beefstrips are a house favorite, served with "Gomen", a mix of collard greens and kale. This kind of food is both healthy and different, and definitely worth a try!

Ginkgo Coffeehouse

Coffeehouse With a Dual Personality
721 N Snelling Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55104
United States
+1 651 645 2647

kathy@ginkgocoffee.com
During the day, this is your typical neighborhood coffee shop with potted plants, a mixture of artwork on the walls and furniture that appears to have been confiscated from garage sales. A few nights a week, the lights are dimmed and the joint plays host to the Twin Cities' best singer-songwriter types. The acoustics in this high-ceiling venue are quite good. If the artist is popular, you may want to arrive early to grab a mismatched table and chair. The menu features a variety of flavored teas, coffee, latte and espresso, soft drinks and juice. A selection of pastries, cookies, hard biscuits, soup, salads and sandwiches is featured. There are three other locations in the St. Paul metropolitan area, check website for more information.

Mirror Of Korea

Tasty Korean BBQ
761 Snelling Ave N
Minneapolis, MN 55104-2859
United States
+1 651 647 9004
Owner Lee Yong enjoys a loyal following at Mirror of Korea. Many praise her barbecue ribs as being among the best in the Twin Cities. Menu favorites include vegetable and chicken stir-fries and bi bim bah (cooked veggies served cold over rice and smothered in pepper sauce). The restaurant's storefront location just east of downtown makes it an ideal lunch destination for the business set.
