Birchwood Cafe |
3311 East 25th St Minneapolis, MN 55406 United States +1 612 722 4474 http://www.birchwoodcafe.com info@birchwoodcafe.com |
Appetizing, reasonably priced and full of surprises, this cheerful neighborhood restaurant is an excellent place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The atmosphere has an old-fashioned "take a load off and sit a spell" feel about it. The menu is on a blackboard as you enter, then place your order at the counter. The menu consists of mostly vegetarian and organic fare. Soup, salads, sandwiches, pasta and pizza are the mainstays. Desserts are too good to pass up, so save room. Juices, soft drinks and coffee are served. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Generous Portions, Interesting Food |
510 N. Snelling Minneapolis, MN United States +1 651 646 4747 http://www.fasika.com |
Fasika has developed a loyal following because of its large portions, excellent prices, and exotic cuisine. The charbroiled beefstrips are a house favorite, served with "Gomen", a mix of collard greens and kale. This kind of food is both healthy and different, and definitely worth a try! Coffeehouse With a Dual Personality |
721 N Snelling Ave Minneapolis, MN 55104 United States +1 651 645 2647 http://www.ginkgocoffee.com kathy@ginkgocoffee.com |
During the day, this is your typical neighborhood coffee shop with potted plants, a mixture of artwork on the walls and furniture that appears to have been confiscated from garage sales. A few nights a week, the lights are dimmed and the joint plays host to the Twin Cities' best singer-songwriter types. The acoustics in this high-ceiling venue are quite good. If the artist is popular, you may want to arrive early to grab a mismatched table and chair. The menu features a variety of flavored teas, coffee, latte and espresso, soft drinks and juice. A selection of pastries, cookies, hard biscuits, soup, salads and sandwiches is featured. There are three other locations in the St. Paul metropolitan area, check website for more information. Home cooking at its best |
767 Raymond Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55114 United States +1 651 646 5756 |
This down to earth restaurant serves up home cooking at its best. The original restaurant on Raymond Avenue opened in 1973 and always has a line waiting for breakfast. And since breakfast is served throughout the day, the place always seems to be packed. The customary breakfast staples can be found here, along with a few surprises, including a Mexican Omelet and Bran Apple Walnut Pancakes. Lunch offers meatloaf and potatoes and roast beef, grilled pork chops, liver with onions and bacon and other comfort foods make patrons feel right at home. Soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers are also served at lunch and dinner. There are a number of locations throughout the Twin Cities. All serve breakfast and lunch, but only a few locations stay open for dinner. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Simple and chic |
2990 West River Parkway Minneapolis, MN 55406 United States +1 612 721 2711 http://www.longfellowgrill.com/ info@longfellowgrill.com |
This is another successful endeavor by the Blueplate Restaurant Company (no relation to H. W. Longfellow and his penciled ponderings!). In this grill, dark wood rules the interior, and the many windows allow for natural lighting. Dine on the patio and watch the Mississippi flow by, or inside, where the feisty waitresses are at your beck and call. An entree like the French Quarter Fettuccini should not be given a miss, unless you opt for the Gorgonzola Tamales. Enjoy the funky paintings as you wait for your meal to arrive. Tasty Korean BBQ |
761 Snelling Ave N Minneapolis, MN 55104-2859 United States +1 651 647 9004 |
Owner Lee Yong enjoys a loyal following at Mirror of Korea. Many praise her barbecue ribs as being among the best in the Twin Cities. Menu favorites include vegetable and chicken stir-fries and bi bim bah (cooked veggies served cold over rice and smothered in pepper sauce). The restaurant's storefront location just east of downtown makes it an ideal lunch destination for the business set. Review © 2007, Wcities |
