At noon, you can grab the usual burger, fries and fantastic malts, or sample such tasty dishes as Ocho Rios jerk chicken. Make your selection at the takeout counter if you are in a hurry. Outdoor seating is available in warmer seasons. Parking is where you can grab it; there is a pay ramp nearby and meters on the street. Review © 2007, Wcities |

It is worth the stop |
212 S 7th St Minneapolis, MN 55402 United States +1 612 333 2644 |
This bar is not much to look at from the outside, but once inside it is worth the stop. Housed in the WCCO Radio building, this local spot boasts Tiffany-style stain glass along the rear wall of the long, magnificent bar. Stake out a high-backed wooden booth in this popular, after-work watering hole. Juicy burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads dominate the menu. Entrees featuring smoked-on-the-premises turkey and ribs are long-time favorites of the regulars. Most of the items are named after local celebrities and because of the location, do not be surprised if you see some of the local radio talent hoisting a few after their broadcast. The bar serves up the usual mixture of beer, wine, call drinks and soda. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This pub draws a large lunch and after-work crowd. Irish folk music is featured most nights. In the back room, you can watch local theater presentations or catch a Poetry Slam on stage. What Irish pub would be complete without a few dartboards? The menu is decidedly Irish, with Shepherd's Pie and hearty stews. Burgers, vegetarian sandwiches (lots of cucumbers), clubs, potato soup and pasta dishes are also available. Mashed potatoes are included with every order. A delicious array of imported beers and the best liquors are served. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Historic printing biz hangout |
420 4th St Minneapolis, MN 55415 United States +1 612 332 4418 |
This little pub has been a mainstay of downtown Minneapolis for many years. With a free hot buffet, the happy hour is worth a visit. Within walking distance of the HHH Metrodome, many fans pay a visit on game day. For many years, this was the center of a thriving neighborhood of print publishers of one kind or another. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is about the only one left nearby. The pictures on the walls attest to the history. Burgers, sandwiches and appetizers are the main offerings, but everything is fresh and homemade. The Special of the Day is worth asking about for lunch. In the warmer months, get there early to grab a table on the sidewalk. Enjoy a cold beer, a strong cocktail or a soft drink. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Literary Heaven |
1011 Washington Ave S Minneapolis, MN 55415 United States +1 612 215 2650 http://www.OpenBookMN.org |
The Twin Cites has long been a haven for literary pursuits, from the days of F. Scott Fitzgerald to Garrison Keillor. After much anticipation, finally there is a central hub for the many spokes of the literary community, the first center of its kind in the nation. In a thoughtfully renovated warehouse, Open Book houses the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, The Loft Literary Center, Milkweed Editions, and Ruminator Books. The building also offers meeting spaces, Dayton's Performance Hall, and The Coffee Gallery. All this in a great space that was built with books in mind. Notice the main staircase; the white panels are meant to emulate the pages of an open book. The old warehouse can still be seen in some places, as the architects left old stairways, wallpaper, and doorways intact. Review © 2007, Wcities |
