If there are any nonbelievers out there saying there isn't world-class cuisine in Minnesota, send them to 112 Eatery and they will eat their words, along with every tasty morsel put in front of them at this popular restaurant. The food here has been praised by publications like, eh hem, Food and Wine magazine and Bon Appetite. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, also lively well into the night, since they serve late. The Lamb Scottadito is simply to die for, and the Nori Encrusted Sirloin w/ Ponzu bursts with flavor, then gently melts in your mouth. They also have a very impressive and diverse wine list, and a broad selection of dessert wines and ports. People come here for the whole dining experience, and it won't disappoint. If you are thinking of eating here, well, you probably are thinking just like everyone else, so make it easy on yourself and make a reservation.

Delve into the winding maze of this popular hangout. Past the bright front room with its large fireplace are two more bars and even a cozy loft. The 35 TVs (including two big screens) are spread throughout. There are enough games, pool tables and dart boards to keep the whole clan busy all night. The front patio fills up in the summer months with a rowdy bunch. The menu features burgers, chicken, sandwiches, hot dogs and pasta. There are also some surprises that lift this above your average pub grub, like snowcrab legs, walleye sirloin and shrimp. Beers are king here, with a good array of exports and domestics. Mixed drinks, soda and juices are also available.

Blue Point Restaurant

United States
+1 952 475 3636

Lake Minnetonka is not the Atlantic Ocean but it does provide a majestic backdrop for this casual, upscale seafood restaurant. The Oyster Bar area is casual, and the white linen main dining area is cozy with large windows offering a spectacular view. The menu changes daily based on the 'fresh catches of the day'. With 10 fish entrees served grilled, broiled, sautéed or blackened, there is something for everyone. Try the Pistachio-Encrusted Yellowtail Snapper, Grilled Swordfish or Marlin, Broiled Rhode Island Sea Bass or Florida Tuna. If seafood does not appeal to you, try a Prime Filet of Ostrich, New York Strip Steak, or a Grilled Free-range Minnesota Hen. Complement your dinner with a cocktail, imported or domestic wine and beer, or a soft drink.

+1 612 767 6978
http://www.chambersminneapolis...
This David Rockwell designed restaurant is a far cry from his Broadway set designs on Hairspray and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, but judging by the popularity, it seems to be well accepted. Boasting two floors atop the prestigious Chambers Minneapolis Hotel, world renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has laid out a unique Asian-inspired menu with items including Mahi-Mahi with Malaysian Chili Sauce, Atlantic Salmon with celery root puree, as well as the classic favorite of Black Pepper Sirloin Steak. The restaurant is accentuated by renowed pieces of art from Damien Hurst and others making this a virtual hotspot for gastronome's and art-lovers alike. For a truly exceptional dining experience, be sure to reserve the chef's table.

The patio here provides a breathtaking view of the Bayport Marina. The inside is tastefully decorated in a sea-faring motif. The menu features steaks, burgers and pasta, but the main attraction is the walleye, trout and northern pike. If no one is in the mood for fish as the main entrée, try the excellent beer-battered walleye fingers as an appetizer. Another highly rated favorite is the Monte Cristo sandwich. Sunday brunch packs them in, so reservations are advised. The bar serves a full complement of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, and liquor).

This classy bar and grill has been a pioneer among local restaurants by offering regional, home-produced food. This casually chic establishment has evolved into the best place to hear local and national jazz acts. An intimate stage separates the bar from the dining room. The acoustics are considered some of the best in the Upper Midwest. The trout comes from a Wisconsin farm and local game fowl, mushrooms, and wild rice are featured. It is all put together with the utmost care and a lot of imagination. The wine (including some by local wineries) beer and liquor selection are impeccable.

Freight House

Beautiful View for Patio Dining
305 S Water St
Minneapolis, MN 55082
United States
+1 651 439 5718
One of the best things about this restaurant is the patio, so if you are tempted to sit inside, don't. The food is unremarkable, and the prices are high for what you get. The menu includes all the usual fare: sandwiches, burgers, salads, pasta, steak, ribs, chops and shrimp. But the view is what continues to make this a visitor favorite. Just a few feet away is the beautiful St. Croix River, a national Scenic Waterway. Located in the old Burlington Northern train station, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

This family tradition has been serving possibly the best steak in town for more than 50 years. As soon as you enter, you can feel the atmosphere of elegance and tradition. Red leather circular booths are tiered in the lounge; everyone has a good seat for either the large screen TV or the floor acts featured Wednesday through Saturday. The feast commences in the Red Room or the Gold Room. The dining rooms are less dramatic than the lounge; the food is the star here. Choose from sirloin, New York strip or filet. Steaks are broiled over open charcoal broilers and all can be paired with lobster tails. If your appetite fails you, try the beef kabob or the chicken breast. There is also a walleye dinner with all the trimmings. A full wine list is available, as is an array of cocktails, beers and juices.

In terms of value and sheer food appeal, this could be considered the best restaurant at the mega mall. The place has a cabin-like atmosphere. You will find a menu loaded with American cuisine and local favorites. The portions are huge and the food is tasty. Perhaps that is why only one appetizer, a thin-crusted pizza called flatbread, is offered. The walleye is tender and flaky, the blue cheese-crusted filet mignon will melt in your mouth, the burgers are a juicy 1/2 pound and the chicken on the Caesar salad is freshly grilled when ordered.
