This intimate, family-owned eatery specializing in northern Italian cuisine is one of the most popular restaurants in the Twin Cities. The small white room is crammed with tables. The food is superb, the prices very reasonable and the service friendly.Start off with an appetizer of seared eggplant layered with proscuitto and fontina cheese topped with a tomato and sage sauce. Follow with a crisp Caesar salad or rich, creamy soup loaded with portobello mushrooms. Penne noodles tossed with spicy homemade beef, veal and pork sausage, or fettuccine noodles tossed with cold-smoked salmon and Alfredo butter make excellent entrée choices.
