With dishes like Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp and Lt. Dan's Drunken Shrimp, and specialty drinks like the Lava Flow and the Bayou Surprise, this shrimp restaurant in Cannery Row attracts tourists from all over, as well shrimp-lovin' locals. The place is usually packed and noisy, making for a great night out amidst the lights. The place has its own line of hats, shirts and other souvenirs. You will never find a wider variety of shrimp dishes anywhere else, and the service is excellent.

You will find a Macy's, a Mervyn's, bookstores, art galleries, eateries, lots of clothing stores, gift shops, stationers and more. Make a day of it at this shopping Mecca.

Some of the best eateries in all of Monterey are found here. It can also be a great place to buy freshly caught fish or just walk around and look at all the pelicans lingering about. Several times a week, the shop hosts lectures and book signings. Ask for a calendar of events.

Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The outdoor seating overlooks the croquet lawn, hence the restaurant's name. Visitors and locals dine on light California-Mediterranean fare. Try the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare for an appetizer, followed by a dish of rich Paella. A glass of Bernardus wine makes the perfect accompaniment. The place is appropriate for family dinners or for relaxed cocktailing.
