With its red awning and brick walls, this place looks like it could have been lifted out of New York or San Francisco. It is cheerful, busy and laid-back. Customers of all ages wolf down pizzas, calzones and sandwiches. A new menu of chicken pizzas caters to the quasi-healthy folks in the crowd, though all the diners seem to enjoy it. Matteo's Deli & Caffe A Sicilian Treat

A Sicilian, Matteo runs this restaurant with authentic recipes and enthusiasm from the island of Sicily. His cheerfulness is spread to each of the tables, making the dining experience a lot fun. As for the food, everything is homemade. Even the tomatoes are homegrown. The Caprese Salad is exceptionally delightful. You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas or pasta dishes. This pizza joint throws together huge, New York-style pizzas and stocks over four hundred wines for you drinking pleasure. You do not find that combination in many other places, which is why this pizzeria is becoming very popular. WIth names like the Bronx Combo, the Queens Deluxe, and the 6th Street Special, one will be instantly transplated to the bronx, where these recipes orginally came from.
