Stunning twin towers |
1981 McGill College Avenue (Near de Maisonneuve) Montreal, QC H3A 2W7 |
This striking all glass office tower is perhaps best known for the light-hearted sculpture at its base on McGill College Avenue: Raymond Mason's 'The Illuminated Crowd' is a life-size group of men, women and children looking amazed at something the passersby can only imagine. It is one of downtown's most visited attractions, a real touch of whimsy amidst the shadows of downtown. The building itself dates from 1983, when the broad avenue was re-modelled in the spirit of Paris' Champs-Elysées. Review © 2009, Wcities |
