Tucked in underneath the prototypical Montreal staircase, in the middle of St-Denis Street's toniest strip, this old-time candy shop offers treats imported from the four corners of the globe. European and local sweets predominate, and most are stocked in glass jars straight out of a 1950s movie set. You will spend more than a couple of nickels for your fix, of course, but once Madame Décarie cheerfully guides you through her delightful little hideaway you will hardly notice.
