Located in the vibrant east-end neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, this theatre dates back to 1928. With a perfectly symmetrical façade that features elements of both Renaissance and Classical architecture, it is a monument to the splendour and glory of the Roaring '20s. Its interior consists of a rich Italianate décor. Since 1977, the building has housed both the Theatre Denise-Pelletier and the Salle Fred-Barry, a performance space for experimental and avant-garde theatre. Review © 2009, Wcities |
