Children's musuem |
Arnulfstraße 3 Hauptbahnhof München, Bayern 80335 +49 89 545 40880 http://www.kindermuseum-muench... kindermuseum@web.de |
This museum is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). The different sections of the museum were all conceived with children in mind but are by no means childish. Each part is an experience for the senses and succeeds in sparking off curiosity about a number of subjects. The best thing about the museum is that everything is allowed and participation is the name of the game. There is no permanent collection, just various temporary exhibitions. Hours of operation: 2p-5.30p M-F; 11a-5.30p Sa & Su Admission: EUR 3; family ticket EUR 8. Review © 2007, Wcities |
The English garden |
Englischer Garten Lehel und Schwabing München, Bayern 80538 +49 89 3866 6390 http://www.schloesser.bayern.de |
One of the oldest English-style landscape gardens and one of the largest municipal parks in Europe, the Englischer Garten (English Garden) is Munich's crowning glory. Although perhaps best known for its nudists, the park is popular with all types of people all year round. Other features include a Chinese pagoda with adjoining beer garden, the Monopteros Greek temple, a river and a boating lake. Visitors can also attend a traditional tea ceremony in the Japanese tea house. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Belgradstraße 5 Kurfürstenplatz München, Bayern 80796 +49 89 3072 9455 http://www.kieser-training.com muenchen2@kieser-training.com |
This fitness centre is not designed to turn you into the next Arnold Schwarzenegger. Instead, your health and fitness will be developed with special training programmes which aim to ward off osteoporosis, broken bones and chronic pain. You're also in the wrong place if you're looking for entertainment, saunas and relaxation, as the emphasis is on training and any distraction is frowned upon. Other branches are located at Lothstraße 3-5 (+49 89 123 9800), Tumblingerstraße 23 (+49 89 7670 2020) and Geisenhausenerstr. 15 (+49 89 7806 4444). Review © 2007, Wcities |
Kids as chiefs... |
Spiridon-Louis-Ring 21 Ursulastraße 5 München, Bayern 80809 |
Here kids can play at being municipal councils or mayors. In the play city in the Werner-von-Linde-Halle, organised by the Kultur und Spielraum, everything works like in the real grown-up world. You will find a court of justice and the new recruits in the media profession can prove their talents at the newspaper publishers. Review © 2007, Wcities |
Kids theatre |

Opened in 1977, the Schauburg specialises in creative performances for children and young people and is the only children's theatre in town with its own ensemble. Free puppet shows for kids |
Lenbachplatz 8 Innenstadt München, Bayern 80333 http://www.die-spieldose.de |
Entertainment for children that is educational and stimulating - now there's a change! Founded some 50 years ago, Spieldose is unique in that all its shows are free. Although the puppeteers are amateurs, the quality of the performances is truly excellent. All shows have been specially adapted for children and many of the puppets made by the puppeteers themselves. Advanced booking is strongly recommended. Review © 2007, Wcities |
