World of Comics |
Sparkassenstrasse 3-5 (Alten Rathaus and Kunstarkaden) Munich 80331 Germany +49 089 651 19197 http://www.comicfestival.de/ |
A Mecca for children and grown-ups alike, Munich's comic festival contains everything that a comic-lover could possibly desire. Several stores offer collectors the opportunity to buy, sell or swap their magazines; there are also workshops for aspiring artists, lectures and autograph sessions by famous cartoonists and a cinema showing classic and contemporary cartoons. A great day out in the scenic Marienplatz. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Eagerly awaited for years, the Pinakothek der Moderne (Gallery of Contemporary Art) opened in September 2002. It was the largest museum to be built in Bavaria since the end of the War, and houses four museums under one roof: the State Gallery of Modern Art, the New Collection (comprising industrial design, graphic design and applied art), the Museum of Architecture and the Count's Collection. There are permanent exhibitions on the four floors, with temporary exhibitions housed on the ground floor. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Museums by Night |
Vaarious venues Munich, Bayern 81823 Germany +49 89 3061 0041 http://www.muenchner.de/museum... |
Inaugurated in 1999, Munich's Long Night of the Museums has already become a popular favourite with local culture vultures. The concept is simple; each of the participating museums host on a special event and remain open until the early hours of the morning. The ticket price includes admission to each of the participating museums, free use of the shuttle buses and entry to a special, late-night party in Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Review © 2007, Wcities |
