Fun at the fair |
Hirschgartenstrasse 1 Hirschgarten Munich, Bayern 80639 Germany +49 (0)89 6975 9393 (Organisers) http://www.muenchner-volksfest... |
Although the Magdalenenfest has been celebrated since 1728, its venue shifted to the beautiful and massive Hirschgarten only in 1959. Celebrated around the time of the St. Mary Magdelene feast, it has something for everyone. Scores of vendors selling wares like clothes, jewelry, household items and more, tempt you into loosening your purse strings; while the food and drinks compel you to loosen your belt a notch or two. Rides like the mini scooters and Ferris wheel will keep the kids occupied. So pick up a chilled beer or some candy and explore the fair. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Play Time |
Liebergesellstrasse 8 Englischer Garten Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 (0)89 98 9388 (Münchner Sommertheater) http://www.muenchner-sommerthe... |
Held at Munich's expansive Englischer Garten (English Garden), the Munich Summer Theatre provides cultural entertainment to help you while away pleasant summer evenings in July. Watch a play in the open air amphitheater and join the thousands of visitors that throng here each year. Enjoy the event even more by carrying along a picnic basket stocked with your favorite goodies. In case the weather turns ugly there's no need to fret; there is a shift of venue to the Mohr Villa, and with plays held each Friday-Sunday in July, there are plenty of opportunities to catch all the action.
