4 You München has two sections; one is a youth hostel with simple clean rooms (no bath) designed for under 26s, families and disabled people; the second section is a hotel, all with bath and telephone, some with TV. The environmentally friendly decor is particularly interesting as is the large, good value buffet. All rooms have disabled access. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The YMCA hostel is also open to women - and you don't have to be holier than thou either. Simply said, the YMCA is a good and cheap alternative for anyone who is open to meeting other young people and making friends. The rooms are simple, with shared showers and toilets. Guests can use the common room and eat at the good value restaurant. There is a curfew from 12:30a-7a. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cheap, centrally located B&B |
Akademiestraße 5 Munich, Bayern 80799 Germany +49 89 39 9550 http://www.siegestor.com/ |
This small bed and breakfast hotel is situated opposite the Academy of Art on peaceful Akademiestraße. Although by no means a luxury hotel, all the rooms are pleasantly furnished and the staff are friendly. As this is one of the cheapest places to stay close to the city centre, early reservation is essential. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cheap hotel in a central location |
Amalienstraße 12 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 28 2086 http://www.hoteldachs.de |
A simple bed and breakfast hotel in a fifties building located in the university district between Schwabing and the city centre. The 50 rooms are decorated in varying styles and all have telephones and TV. Most rooms have an en suite WC but not all rooms have a bath. Many just have a shower, meaning that the prices are relatively moderate. A well-managed, no-frills establishment with a relaxed atmosphere and prices to match, Hotel Dachs is deservedly popular. Good location |
Zweigstraße 8 Ludwigsvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80336 Germany +49 89 55 4660 |
Situated in the city-center, mid-way between the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) and Karlsplatz (Stachus), this guest house is nevertheless quiet because of its location in a side street. All rooms have a telephone, many also have a television and private shower/WC. Furnishings are otherwise simple and functional. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hotel Haberstock is situated in the lively area around the station, with the city center only a short walk away. The simple rooms are equipped with TV and telephone, some have a private bathroom and WC. The furnishings are not particularly cozy, but the rooms are adequate and offer good value for money. Bayerstraße 95 Ludwigsvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80335 Germany +49 89 54 3240 http://www.hotel-jedermann.de hotel-jedermann@cube.net |
Situated in the heart of Munich yet still fairly quiet, the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) is five minutes away on foot, and from there you have direct access to the entire public transport network. Rooms are comfortable and the hotel has a pleasant atmosphere, not least because it is lovingly tended by the Jenke family and their team of helpers. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Loud but central |
Bayerstraße 95 Ludwigsvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80335 Germany +49 89 54 3240 http://www.hotel-jedermann.de info@hotel-jedermann.de |
This hotel is really close to the main train station, meaning that it can be noisy, but it does provide a very good base from which to discover the city by foot. Pleasant, comfortable and decorated in typical Bavarian style, the rooms were recently renovated and most have a bath, TV and modem connections. In the lobby you can surf the Net or have a few drinks at the bar. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Lively surroundings |
Schillerstraße 16 Ludwigsvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80336 Germany +49 89 189 3790 http://www.hotel-modern.de/ info@hotel-modern.de |
With its seventies interior, this hotel wouldn't have won many fans in the eighties and nineties, but the 'retro' look is currently very in. The standard of the rooms is above average for this price category: all rooms are equipped with a telephone, mini-bar, WC, bath or shower and sound-proof windows (Schillerstraße is not the quietest of streets). The hotel houses a bistro and restaurant (both decorated in the same retro-look) which are frequented by passers-by. A lively atmosphere is guaranteed! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Comfortable family-run hotel |
Landsberger Straße 20 Laim Munich, Bayern 80339 Germany +49 89 504004 |
Accessible on public transport (although not centrally located), the Westend is a friendly, family-run hotel which offers remarkable value for money. Some of the rooms have just a washbasin and no private shower or WC, but they are very inexpensive. The owners are flexible and quite prepared to make up additional beds in the larger rooms on request, so this hotel is especially suitable for groups and school parties. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Burg Schwaneck Youth Hostel is located in Schwaneck Castle which was built in 1843. Thierschstraße 36 Lehel Munich, Bayern 80538 Germany +49 89 22 0708 / +49 89 22 5768 |
This guest house is named after the elderly lady who runs the place. The location in Lehel is perfect - quiet, but close to the city centre, the River Isar and the English Garden. All rooms have telephone and TV, but only a few have bathrooms. Some rooms do, however, have the luxury of a balcony and there are a couple of extra-large rooms with cooking facilities for families. A trip back in time |
Steinheilstraße 1 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 52 1556 |
Ideally located within easy walking distance of the Pinakothek, Königsplatz and the pubs in the university area, Pension Geiger oozes charm. Decorated a bit like an old Bavarian sitting room, it may be slightly kitschy, but it's definitely cozy and comfortable. Not all rooms have showers and toilet. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Very central |
Kaiserplatz 12 Munich, Bayern 80803 Germany +49 89 349190 |
In the heart of the northern Munich district of Schwabing, Pension am Kaiserplatz has a central but peaceful location. There are plenty of bars, shops and restaurants just around the corner, but you can still relax in the tranquillity of this little guest house. It is family run, which gives it a cosy feel, and is equipped and maintained with care and attention. The rooms are simple, but tasteful and thoughtfully furnished. The staff are more than willing to help with directions and restaurant tips. Review © 2007, Wcities |
