The living room for ambitious music fans, the Philharmonie is a major concert hall, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, under its star conductor James Levine, regularly performs here. The Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks (Symphonic orchestra of Bavarian Broadcast) and other prominent orchestras also perform on occasion and the range of music varies from orchestral to choir concerts. Tickets can be bought online from http://www.muenchen-ticket.de or from the box office in the Gasteig itself. Performance times vary.
