Spot the yuppie |
Sternstraße 21 Lehel Munich, Bayern 80538 Germany +49 89 22 4491 |
One of the bars for advertising executives and other high flyers, this place is strategically well-situated close to P1. You can tell from the prices that it caters to the chic crowd: expect to pay (EUR 9) for a small plate of pasta and (EUR 3.75) for a beer. The cocktails are also expensive but they are good (and large). A party atmosphere prevails here, particularly at the weekend. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The big breakfast |
Ursulastraße 10 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 3408 9965 http://www.bobolovsky.de/ |
Bobolovsky's is a café, a bar and a restaurant. This place serves the cheapest and best breakfast in Schwabing. This could comprise a huge portion of ham and eggs, followed by waffles, cornflakes, toast and jam, and a hot drink. If you're still peckish after that, you'd better start worrying! Bobolovsky's also serves a wide range of hot, mainly American and Mexican style cuisine, which is, as the breakfasts are, fabulous. The all-you-can-eat American buffet special on Monday evenings (after 8p) is a killer! Review © 2007, Wcities |

High-cholesterol American cuisine |
Hofmannstraße 19 Sendling Munich, Bayern 81379 Germany +49 89 7874 9022 |
This restaurant took its name from one of America's most-wanted bank robbers. The decor, however, is not at all American. Dillinger's is located in a lovely arched cellar hung with bright paintings. The food, on the other hand, is typically American: giant burgers, fries, steaks, everything you can think of to take your cholesterol level to new heights. At weekends it is essential to book. You can even bring your dog. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Haidhausen's American cocktail bar |
Breisacher Str 18 Haidhausen Munich, Bayern 81667 Germany +49 89 448 0044 |
Juleps not only has the best cocktail list in Haidhausen but also offers exquisite American-Mexican food. Dark, loud, comfortable and furnished with small tables, rough brick walls and a long bar, it is surprising to find that most of the clientele are stylish young business people. The service is very good, the staff polite and the atmosphere pleasant. An American-style parking service is available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Faded grandeur |
Rosenheimer Straße 98 Haidhausen Munich, Bayern 81669 Germany +49 89 4895 3050 |
The best way to describe the decor is down-at-heel art nouveau. But it is precisely that faded grandeur which makes this restaurant so comfortable and cosy. The menu is contemporary and contains everything the well-traveled person could wish for. Portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Stressed out office workers can relax over a business lunch; on Mondays there is a classic American buffet, where you can eat as much as you like. Review © 2007, Wcities |

East Coast style |
Leopoldstraße 28a Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 39 5071 |
No prizes for guessing that this is an American diner. Designed to resemble an East Coast pub, Luigi Malone's brings to mind 1970s gangster movies. Many of the guests here are American. Supposedly they do the best fajitas outside Mexico: the portions are certainly big enough and the staff pleasant and attentive. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Good food in the Kunstpark Ost |
Grafingerstraße 6 Kunstpark Ost Munich, Bayern 81671 Germany +49 89 4900 2153 http://www.nachtkantine.de |
Apart from the odd snack bar, this is the only restaurant in Kunstpark Ost. It offers mainly American food, such as burgers from EUR7.25 as well as pizza and pasta from EUR4.25-6.25 - good value for Munich. The turnover of guests is high as people come and go all the time. The hectic pace is heightened by the loud techno music played by various DJs - and all this in a room for 800 people! If you're just finishing the night, then you can begin the next day here - a full breakfast is available for EUR7. Review © 2007, Wcities |
