Fish the French way |
Rablstraße 37 Haidhausen Munich, Bayern 81669 Germany +49 89 48 7220 |
This pleasant place concentrates on fish cooked the French way. With the fish shop L'Océan just around the corner, you can be sure that only the freshest fish is served. The preparation is simple yet perfect; the fish is often served grilled with assorted vegetables. The five-course meal EUR 37 is good value and should ideally be accompanied by a bottle of the house Muscadet. Main courses cost about EUR 17.50-20. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sweet temptation |
Isabellastraße 4 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80798 Germany +49 89 271 0330 |
Probably the most popular crêperie in Munich, whether for sweet crêpes made of wheat flour or savoury buckwheat galettes. You simply cannot have enough of these delicious, wafer-thin treats, and you will go back for more again and again. Everything is prepared from fresh ingredients and, although Cabus is always crowded, you never have to wait long for your favourite to be prepared, whether it is a galette filled with four cheeses or a crêpe with fresh fruit and ice cream. The kitchen serves hot food until midnight. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sweet and savoury |
Andreestraße 10 Munich, Bayern 80634 Germany +49 (0)89 167 9104 |
What a menu! This place sells crêpes filled with delicious things which take you back to childhood days; sweet, brightly-coloured and seductive. You can have them flambéd or cold with ice-cream. Sheer heaven for those with a sweet tooth! As well as sweet crêpes, you will also come across the less-familiar savoury galettes. These are stuffed with ratatouille, for example, or with a meat filling. The menu also offers a crêpe-free section, including various large or small salads, as well as a set menu with dishes like 'magret de canard aux poivres vert' (duck's breast with green peppers). French restaurant, Bavarian beer garden |
Zentralländstraße 30 Thalkirchen Munich, Bayern 81379 Germany +49 89 7429 9715 |
Idyllically situated near the banks of the River Isar, yet not far from the city centre, this restaurant - housed in a 19th century neo-Renaissance villa - is soberly decorated in black and white, but offers delicious French cuisine at fairly reasonable prices (the fish dishes are particularly good!). The main attraction is the beer garden, which is tucked well away from the traffic and also offers hearty Bavarian fare. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tasty Dinner For Two |
Nymphenburgerstr. 110 Munich 80636 Germany +49 89 42 095 2927 http://www.froschkoenig-bar.de |
Froschkönig, German for Frog prince, is a sleek restaurant with a casual sense of humor and numerous special deals. The most popular offer is the "cuddle dinner for two," offered on every second Wednesday of the month. The delicious and lovingly prepared three course romantic dinner is reasonably priced, and makes you feel like you're in a high class restaurant in the middle of Munich. The cuisine is inventive diverse, and international, with German, Italian, French and even Mexican touches. There is a "food" happy hour for different parts of the menu daily (don't miss the enchilada happy hour on Tuesday—5€ per enchilada!) Froschkönig is a special place and a nice retreat from the chaos and high prices of central Munich.–Emily Flechtner Review © 2007, Wcities |

Corner shop restaurant |
St. Anna-Platz 1 Lehel Munich, Bayern 80538 Germany +49 89 2916 2525 http://www.gandl.de/ |
This former corner shop in the heart of well-to-do Lehel will surprise you with its concept: some great creative cuisine combined with a shop selling food from all over the world. The idea has certainly proven itself and people (including many business people) come flocking here. The cooking is slightly Mediterranean with an Asian touch. The prices are even cheaper at lunch - and the house wine is excellent. A small, cosy establishment. Review © 2007, Wcities |
