Schmellerstrasse 17 Munich, Bayern 80337 Germany +49 (0)89 7474 7610 http://www.egnatia.net/ |
Known for its traditional Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, Egnatia is warm and inviting. Warm tones, a wooden decor and an airy ambience beckon you to this bar and restaurant. The simplicity of the decor is complemented by the delicious food and great wine list. Dig into various salads, pastas and main courses. Top off your meal with a cocktail or a decadent dessert like the Tiramisu or Halvas. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Friendly Greek restaurant |
Schleißheimer Straße 188 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80797 Germany +49 89 308 9396 |
A very small and popular Greek tavern, so much so it is often difficult to find a seat. Many customers are from the local Greek community, but its reputation has grown so much that some people come from quite a way away. Guests can watch the cook prepare the food through a glass screen, so there's no need to doubt whether they use fresh ingredients. This means choice is a little limited however, but on the plus side, the quality is excellent. The chef even takes time to come and talk to guests and crack the odd joke, making for a really good atmosphere overall. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tradition and innovation |
Kistlerhofstraße 111 Sendling Munich, Bayern 81379 Germany +49 89 784 9964 |
The philosophy at Kyano's is that tradition does not have to be left to gather dust, but that it can be adapted to modern tastes. This is reflected in the cuisine, based on old recipes but enhanced with innovative ideas. The decor is modern and Mediterranean, a far cry from the fishing nets and plaster-cast Aphrodites which decorate many other Greek places. A special feature is that the guest is shown their piece of fish or meat before it is cooked. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Lively local taverna |
Wilderich-Lang-Straße 10 Neuhausen Munich, Bayern 80634 Germany +49 89 16 2633 http://www.taverne-kyklos.de |
This Greek taverna is typical for the district of Neuhausen. Hellenic favorites like grilled meat and ouzo are all served in a pleasant and comfortable setting. Portions are more than ample, especially bearing in mind the low prices. Friday evenings feature live Greek folk music which fits in well with the lively but relaxing atmosphere. Meals can be eaten outside in summer - great for families, as there is a children's play area next door. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The best of Greek cuisine |
Theresienstraße 17 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany |
You have your first surprise when you go into Kápari and see an entire wall covered with shelves of brightly colored bottles. The second surprise lies in the menu. Its contents bear little relation to the usual Greek restaurant fare. The selection of starters itself is a voyage of discovery into a cuisine with a difference. There is also an unusually wide variety of fish dishes. If that doesn't appeal to you, the meat dishes are also delicately prepared and seasoned. It comes as no surprise that the prices are somewhat higher than average. Greek cuisine at its finest. Review © 2007, Wcities |
