Late-night munchies |
Leopoldstraße 19 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany |
Adria is a traditional meeting spot for those who get the munchies late. Orders are taken from 10:30a-3a. You can go for classics like pizza (from EUR 4.50) and pasta ( EUR 5.35) or try one of the numerous fish or meat dishes. The helpings are very big and the prices reasonable. Adria also does good business with its take-away service. For (1.75) you can get a lasagne, a slice of pizza or a vegetable bake to take away. Drinks cost (EUR 1). Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cigars aplenty |
Leopoldstraße 25 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 3308 9292 |
A bar-cum-restaurant with a bouncer and self-assured clientele, which sells good if slightly overpriced Caribbean food. The atmosphere is very casual and the clientele is mainly made up of 'successful' business people who come here to eat and smoke a cigar (from the in-house humidor) while discussing the latest share prices. The Aficionado has large rooms, a separate bar and a pleasant terrace on the Ludwigstraße in summer. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Dinner and belly dancing |
Kaulbachstraße 82 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 33 3738 http://www.arabesk.de/ |
A good place for an introduction to Lebanese food. Whether made of meat or vegetables, all the dishes are prepared using the finest oriental spices such as cinnamon and cloves. People on their first visit can rely on the friendly waiters to help them make their choice. Arabesk is especially popular at weekends, when a belly dancer adds a visual element to the pleasures of the evening. There is frequent live music and a 1001 Nights party once a month. The student pub |
Schellingstraße 9 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80799 Germany |
This establishment has been the student meeting place for decades. The venue for many an unofficial seminar, academics, students and normal customers make for a cheery and mixed clientele. Only the law and economics departments are underrepresented - they prefer Lunis or the News Bar just around the corner. Atzinger is also known to have the best 'Currywurst' (curry sausage) in town, and the good, hearty food makes you forget all about the university canteen. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Traditional beer garden near the city centre |
Arnulfstraße 52 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80335 Germany +49 89 59 4393 http://www.augustinerkeller.de arnulfstrasse@augustinerkeller.de |
Augustinerkeller is the only really traditional beer garden left in the city centre and serves up big glasses of tasty beer. Thanks to an ancient law dating back to the days when Bavaria had a monarchy, guests are allowed to bring their own food; but there's really no need, as the traditional fare served here is good-value and tasty. The clientele is mixed, with families, students, business people, locals and tourists. The beer is reputed to be the best in Munich! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tapas in the library |
Kreittmayrstraße 26 Neuhausen Munich, Bayern 80335 Germany +49 89 5235 0535 |
Billiards with Brecht? Pasta with Pasternak? How about both! This is one of the most imaginative of Munich's bars. For twenty years local people have been eating and drinking here, in the company of high and low brow literature. The walls are lined with thousands of assorted books. The annexe is very popular, having a very busy pool table. The bar is kept by a colourful trio: a social educationalist, a furrier and a faith healer and you can quickly sense that they really enjoy running their bar. This is a place to spend a congenial evening with friends. The menu features typical 'Osteria' fare with pasta and tapas. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Readymade Picnic Baskets |
Leopold Strasse 50 Munich 80802 Germany +49 89 383 8680 http://www.bachmaier-hofbraeu.de |
Picnics under a blue and white Bavarian sky are exhilarating for romantic twosomes or bustling families. At Bachmaier Hofbraeu they prepare custom-made picnics: Bavarian for 8.50 Euro per person, Mediterranean for 11.80 Euro per person, and deluxe picnic for 18.50 Euro per person. For 15 Euro more they provide a basket complete with cutlery, crockery, table cloth, and all other picnic essentials. (The basket has a refundable deposit of 50 Euro.) Garden umbrellas, cork screws, thermoses, and more can also be rented. The English Garden is a few minutes' walk from Bachmaier and they provide you with a map of many prime picnic locations! -Tulika Richter Review © 2007, Wcities |

Spot the yuppie |
Sternstraße 21 Lehel Munich, Bayern 80538 Germany +49 89 22 4491 |
One of the bars for advertising executives and other high flyers, this place is strategically well-situated close to P1. You can tell from the prices that it caters to the chic crowd: expect to pay (EUR 9) for a small plate of pasta and (EUR 3.75) for a beer. The cocktails are also expensive but they are good (and large). A party atmosphere prevails here, particularly at the weekend. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Amalienstraße 89 Amalien-Passage Munich, Bayern 80799 Germany +49 89 28 1780 |
Werner Licht, the former chef at Tantris restaurant, has earned even more culinary honours in this intimate Parisian-style restaurant. His creative hand marks the menu; the ingredients of classical French cuisine are combined in a modern and innovative way. Business lunch costs EUR 21.50, a five-course dinner EUR 42.50. The art nouveau interior is particularly enticing, as too is the peaceful terrace in the courtyard. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Where Africans go to eat |
Siegesstraße 22a Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 34 2389 |
This simple restaurant without romantic frills is an excellent introduction to oriental and Ethiopian cuisine. The dishes are prepared according to traditional recipes without concessions to the European palate. It will take a moment to adjust before you get into the swing and you will have to learn to eat with your fingers! The pleasant staff will help you out if you are struggling. After a couple of glasses of honey wine, all your inhibitions will disappear anyway. The fact that many Africans eat here speaks volumes about the quality of the food. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The big breakfast |
Ursulastraße 10 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 3408 9965 http://www.bobolovsky.de/ |
Bobolovsky's is a café, a bar and a restaurant. This place serves the cheapest and best breakfast in Schwabing. This could comprise a huge portion of ham and eggs, followed by waffles, cornflakes, toast and jam, and a hot drink. If you're still peckish after that, you'd better start worrying! Bobolovsky's also serves a wide range of hot, mainly American and Mexican style cuisine, which is, as the breakfasts are, fabulous. The all-you-can-eat American buffet special on Monday evenings (after 8p) is a killer! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Nordendstraße 62 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80799 Germany |
D'accord? Do you agree? Sit down for a rest and a coffee break in this shady terrace away from the bustle of the city streets. Whether Thai delicacy or steak - the portions are always generous, the beverages are also noticeably cheaper than elsewhere - a Grüner Veltliner costs very reasonably. A coffee house with a kick! You will find Café Monopteros right at the entrance to the Englischer Garten (the English Garden) and it is therefore perfect for fortifying yourself after a good walk with a nice cup of coffee and a cake from the wide selection. Early birds will be attracted by the excellent breakfast menu, while there are also several lunchtime specials which provide good value for money. In short, you will find everything you could wish for, whether you want a snack or a hearty meal. Situated close to the university, Café Puck is a popular hang-out for students during the day, mainly because of its tasty salads, sandwiches and hot meals, but also to its policy of serving breakfast until 6pm. In the evening and later on, a new group of punters - tidy and well-dressed thanks to the bouncers - come to chat, drink and flirt. After midnight the place really starts to kick. Not quite as whimsical as Shakespeare's Puck - more straightforward fun! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Situated next to the university riding school, this café has the particular advantage of offering a view of the riders practising their show-jumping techniques in the riding hall. Once popular with Munich's high society, the clientele now consists of business people, yuppies and law students coming and going in a continuous stream. Good food, wonderful terraces with a view of the English Gardens, separate rooms for larger parties and, of course, excellent service. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tapas and cocktails |
Bauerstraße 2 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80796 Germany +49 89 2731 2288 |
Lovely, rustic restaurant-bar in western Schwabing. Spanish dishes are served by the friendly staff, with the emphasis on tapas, which are of only average quality. There is a good selection of decent cocktails at average prices. The young clientele consoles itself for the mediocre cuisine by creating a lively but intimate ambience, and smoking cigars at the same time (which are also available here). Casa de Tapas can certainly be recommended as a bar. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Eating Italian food is always a bit like being in a play or film. Cinecittà takes this literally. It is named after the film studios in Rome and, once inside, you feel as if you have been transported there. The walls are covered with photographs, posters and autographs from the world of cinema. The menu, if not quite as cinematic, is nevertheless varied and authentically Italian. There is a large selection of pizzas and pasta dishes as well as an excellent wine list. The atmosphere adds to your enjoyment and sense of well-being. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Dine in style at this elegant eatery specializing in seafood. The decor consists of overhead lighting, subtle tones and plenty of steel and woodwork. A la carte and set lunches please the palate, though not the wallet. Wines from Nahe, Baden and Pfalz rub shoulders with the Italian and French varietals. Probably the most popular crêperie in Munich, whether for sweet crêpes made of wheat flour or savoury buckwheat galettes. You simply cannot have enough of these delicious, wafer-thin treats, and you will go back for more again and again. Everything is prepared from fresh ingredients and, although Cabus is always crowded, you never have to wait long for your favourite to be prepared, whether it is a galette filled with four cheeses or a crêpe with fresh fruit and ice cream. Mexico in Munich |

Don Luca has two locations in Munich, both full of Mexican kitsch and a certain cozy-meets-mass-produced flair. Come for the well-priced cocktails, which are even cheaper during happy hour. The "Top Five" specials are always 4.90€ and include hits like the Touchdown, Mai Tai and Caipi. The food is no culinary feat, especially for those of us used to authentic Mexican food, but the Giant Pizza Special on Monday for the bargain price of 9.90€ will feed at least three hungry people, and cocktail slurpers can't complain about the Cheese Smothered Nachos or Toasty Quesadillas. Happy hour daily from 5-8p, and Mo-Th 11p-closing. A second Don Luca is located at Morassistrasse 2. See website for more details. Olé! -Emily Flechtner Review © 2007, Wcities |

Located in a lovely vaulted cellar near the English Garden, this is one of Munich's oldest (1965) Spanish restaurants. Don Quijote concentrates on traditional Spanish cooking without attempting to create anything fashionable. The service is exceptionally friendly. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Everything under one roof |
Feilitzschstraße 12 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany drugstoresaffari@aol.com |
Drugstore is an understatement for this shop that has everything: a restaurant, bar, bistro and news agency. You can get a hearty breakfast from 9a-3p, have a coffee, eat lunch (business lunch 11a-3p) or just pop in for a drink in the evening. The happy hour is a must (6p-7p & 11p-midnight Sunday-Thursday) with cocktails. However, the really unusual thing about the Drugstore is the news agency, where you can buy useful things (wine) and useless things (horoscopes) until 1a. Hot food is also served until midnight. A typical Tex-Mex bar, Enchilada has become particularly renowned for its hectic party atmosphere. The clientele is mixed but mostly young. People start the evening with a bang at happy hour (5p-8p) and then continue through to 11pm, when the 'margarita hour' starts. Rumour has it that the food isn't bad either, but you have to be a certain type to want to tuck into your fajitas for EUR 12.50 while teeny-boppers scream and dance. Friendly Greek restaurant |
Schleißheimer Straße 188 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80797 Germany +49 89 308 9396 |
A very small and popular Greek tavern, so much so it is often difficult to find a seat. Many customers are from the local Greek community, but its reputation has grown so much that some people come from quite a way away. Guests can watch the cook prepare the food through a glass screen, so there's no need to doubt whether they use fresh ingredients. This means choice is a little limited however, but on the plus side, the quality is excellent. The chef even takes time to come and talk to guests and crack the odd joke, making for a really good atmosphere overall. Review © 2007, Wcities |

It is hard to say why, but the ambiance at the Grappolo is somehow very Italian. Probably the best Italian eatery in the university district, it has small tables, where you eat standing, and the food is delicious. You have your first surprise when you go into Kápari and see an entire wall covered with shelves of brightly colored bottles. The second surprise lies in the menu. Its contents bear little relation to the usual Greek restaurant fare. The selection of starters itself is a voyage of discovery into a cuisine with a difference. There is also an unusually wide variety of fish dishes. If that doesn't appeal to you, the meat dishes are also delicately prepared and seasoned. It comes as no surprise that the prices are somewhat higher than average. Greek cuisine at its finest. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Regional Italian cooking |
Georgenstraße 105 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80798 Germany |
The interior of this Italian restaurant speaks volumes for the cooking - traditional and provincial, it pays little attention to current trends. The regional Italian food is an attempt to break the monotony of the German obsession with pizza and pasta. Having said that, the pastas are excellent, but any of the outstanding meat or fish dishes are highly recommended and there is a particularly good range of the latter. Seidlstraße 18 Ludwigsvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80335 Germany +49 89 55 7681 |
Munich's gourmets are divided in their opinion about this restaurant. Some love the terrific West Coast cuisine and stylish atmosphere, others find the food boring, lacking in imagination and overpriced. They all agree on one thing though - the selection of Californian wines is excellent. Staff are pleasant and attentive and the house special - ostrich steak - always comes with a smile. Steeped in tradition |
Schellingstraße 62 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80799 Germany +49 89 272 0717 http://www.osteria.de |
The tradition of this Italian restaurant is such that historical figures like Lenin and King Umberto of Italy dined here in the past. Even today, it has lost none of its VIP appeal, with stars from all over the globe coming to sample the tremendous Italian cuisine in stylish surroundings. You'll be glad to know that you won't find novelty food like Pizza Hawaii here. Service is fast, efficient and friendly; the staff are only too pleased to give advice on wines. Oriental magic |
Dachauer Straße 78 Neuhausen Munich, Bayern 80335 Germany +49 89 52 7910 |
According to some, behind this building's unassuming facade lies one of the best oriental restaurants in Munich. Once inside, there's certainly a surprise in store, with stylish carpeted walls and indoor fountains, perhaps a little tacky at first if you're not used to it. The dishes are typically oriental, i.e. pleasantly spicy, and come served with a variety of different types of rice. There isn't a vast choice, but everything is freshly prepared. Try giving the beer a miss for a change and asking staff, ever helpful and obliging, to get you a tea to match your meal. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Eat and flirt |
Schraudolphstraße 44 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80799 Germany +49 89 27 21346 http://www.pappasitos.de/ mex@pappasitos.de |
Eating and flirting are the two main reasons to come to Pappasito's. A sure recipe for success, because the restaurant is always jam-packed. The decor is typical of Mexican restaurants in Germany and is brimming with overdone Mexican charm. On the plus side, there are so many people here you can hardly see it. The menu consists of the usual Mexican dishes, served in large portions. You get the distinct impression, though, that most people haven't come for the food. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Papa Tex |

Home of Latina food and drink, Pappasitos is a wonderful place for some spicy Tex Mex. The lively bartenders will entertain you as they mix cocktails to the music. You can also host a party here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Well worth the wait |
Feilitzschstraße 14 Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 (0)89 34 8470 http://www.peaches.de/d/peache... info@peaches.de |
Peaches Schwabing is part of the nationwide Peaches chain. There is a good mix of customers, but the crowd seems to be either young or old, with not much in between. It is always jam-packed and ordering can sometimes be difficult, but once you have finally managed to get your hands on a Long Island Ice-Tea things quickly get better! The cocktails are good and not too pricey by Munich standards. If you are feeling peckish, try one of the tasty pizzas, pastas or salads. Other Peaches are located in Laim (Elsenheimerstraße 12), Neuhausen (Donnersbergerstraße 50) and Milbertshofen (Schleißheimerstraße 330). Review © 2007, Wcities |

Wine & snacks |
Residenzstraße 1 Residenz Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 22 5628 http://www.BayernPfalz.de |
A real Munich institution, situated in the former Royal Guardhouse and especially popular with theatre-goers, this traditional Munich tavern fills up at the end of performances in the nearby theatres and concert houses. Try specialities such as the excellent Stuffed Stomach of Pork - it comes highly recommended. The wine-tasting bar was opened in 1950 by the Landesverband der Pfälzer in Bayern (a regional Bavarian-Palatinate association) to provide a culinary reminder of the ties between the Palatinate and Bavaria. Rama provides Munich with some of the best north Indian food. They offer a wide variety of tasty hot breads. The food, like in north India, is made of fresh spices and ingredients rather than powdered spices. Don't forget to sample their yogurt! Food is made spicy upon request. Also, they have an Italian menu to cater to the people in your group who may not have a taste for Indian cuisine. This helps especially with children! -Tulika Richter Review © 2007, Wcities |

Legends of the silver screen |
Elisabethstraße 52 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 85716 Germany +49 89 271 6355 |
There are two reasons for going to Romagna Antika; to see the backdrop to Helmut Dietl's classic film Rossini, and to sample the delights of the kitchen. Popular with stars and starlets from the film industry, the atmosphere is fairly high-brow but the food is surprisingly simple. The home-made pasta and meat dishes are particularly good and make Romagna Antika an all-round talent, worthy of a visit at any time. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Snacks to keep you going |
Hohenzollernstraße 40 Munich, Bayern 80801 Germany +49 (0)89 43 8489 |
Sam's has all you need to fill up after a shopping spree. You can stock up on carbohydrates in the form of sandwiches, tramezzini, bagels or burritos. If you feel you need more vitamins, there are delicious salads or freshly squeezed juice and if you are craving for sugar, the muffins or the tiramisu are life savers. There is also a take-away service for those in a hurry. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Better to celebrate than to eat |
Türkenstraße 50 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 28 1594 http://www.sausalitos.de |
Large, loud, dark, gay and well-frequented, Sausalitos is less suitable for a comfortable or intimate dinner than for large group celebrations and generally getting to know people. The food is good quality and not overpriced, but the cocktails are better and very good value. The clientele is young and consists mainly of students-the university is just around the corner. Not a place for refined gentlemen! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Light and healthy |
Leopoldstraße 120 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 34 8104 |
The first thing you'll notice about this Korean restaurant is the number of Asians who dine here - a reflection of the quality and originality of the dishes on offer. The owner ensures the food is light and healthy, typical Korean food being low in both salt and fat, which acts as an added incentive to many diet-conscious guests. And with all the spices, it's got plenty of flavour! The restaurant is a particularly pleasant place to dine in summer, with seats available outside. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A trip to India |
Augustenstraße 96 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 523 2888 |
If you've never been to India then you may imagine it a little like this place - too much of a good thing. The menu offers a terrific overview of the various types of regional Indian cuisine. The thalis, tandoori dishes and curries are particularly recommended, and the pleasant atmosphere adds to the enjoyment of your Indian adventure. Service is not always that fast and, on occasion, they don't clean up the mess from the previous customer properly, though on the whole, the staff are polite and pleasant. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sushi and karaoke |
Gabelsbergerstraße 85 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 523 6249 |
A well-established Japanese restaurant with a striking wooden interior. Not only trendy sushi is served, but the long menu also offers many typical (and not so typical) specialities from the Land of the Rising Sun. Delicious tempura EUR 18 is a popular favourite, while main courses EUR9 and an interesting set meal for EUR47.50 should leave you satisfied. A low-priced business lunch can be enjoyed for just EUR6.50. Some come here just for the karaoke! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Authentic Italian |
Hohenstaufenstraße 2 (Schwabing) Munich, Bayern 80801 Germany +49 89 34 1779 |
The decor is simple and stylish, avoiding the typical Italian kitsch that so many places seem to like. The menu is similar - there is no German-style Italian food here, just traditional Italian cuisine with no fashionable experiments. It is refreshing to see how good simple cooking can be. Apart from the daily special (seasonal fare), Stella also has a weekly lunch menu. Most of Munich has discovered this gem, so booking is essential. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Lounge Café |
80 Augustenstrasse Munich 80333 Germany +49 8945229522 |
It is more a caf than a restaurant, and more of a living room than a caf . The creativity of the management is tangible not only in the dcor and the fresh flower arrangement, but also the daily specials which are a surprising mix of Eastern and Western cuisines. The staff is multilingual and friendly. A cozy place to meet the girls for lunch and talk endlessly over a nice selection of coffees or teas, and it is equally great for a wholesome meal with a refreshing wine. It is small and almost always full, but it's worth the wait! - Tulika Richter Review © 2007, Wcities |

Luxury as a philosophy |
Johann-Fichte-Straße 7 Munich, Bayern 80805 Germany +49 89 361 9590 http://www.tantris.de info@tantris.de |
One of the most highly renowned restaurants in town, Tantris offers fantastic contemporary international cuisine rustled up by master chef Hans Haas. It also features an excellent wine list prepared by sommelière Paula Bosch. The main room, decorated in red and black, seems to tackle life's problems head on: love and death are celebrated in a culinary form and the 'philosophy' of the house is that food is the basis for happiness. There is also a terrace and garden room, which are available for functions on Sundays and Mondays. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Portuguese cuisine |
Ungererstraße 70 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80805 Germany +49 89 361 1400 http://www.portugal-tejo.de/ |
Named after the river close to Lisbon, the Tejo's menu consists mainly of Portuguese dishes. This cuisine does not suit everyone's digestion, because it uses large quantities of oil. If you want to avoid that, go for fish from the grill. The location is pleasant - an arched cellar oozing with southern charm. The waiters play their part, always friendly and helpful. Tasty meat and fish dishes are prepared on the Portuguese churrasco-grill. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Top Tex-Mex |
Leopoldstraße 13 Schwabing Munich, Bayern 80802 Germany +49 89 330 40724 |
For some years, Tijuana has reveled in the reputation of being one of the best Mexican places in town. The cocktails, the snacks and the food are all great. Its fine reputation has a price, because you have to reserve in advance or at least grab your table early. Otherwise you will have no chance against the hoards of yuppies and law students. Even if you manage to find space, you cannot rely on being able to relax. The service is often not up to coping with the numbers and long waits are far from unusual. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tasty food and chilled sounds |
Maxburgstraße 4 Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 2916 3938 |
This quality city-centre establishment has a relaxed and flirtatious atmosphere as well as a beautiful terrace with fountain. The menu is excellent and reasonably priced - pasta, pizza and main courses cost EUR7-15. The lunch menu will set you back just EUR8 and the evening fare is extremely creative. Friday and Saturday nights are legendary and feature some of the best drum & bass DJs in town (from 8p). Breakfasts are scrumptious (EUR3-29) and are served until 5p over the weekend. 'The' place for sushi |
Theresienstraße 54 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80333 Germany +49 89 2898 6760 |
For many years this trendy Sushi-bar had just one branch in Haidhausen, but since the new place near the university was opened, it's more busy than ever it was. Traditional Normal Japanese dishes are of course available, but what makes it special is the fresh sushi and sashimi. You can even watch the impressive Japanese cooks preparing your food! The tasty 'snacks' are available in different combinations (from EUR 12) or à la carte for EUR 3 apiece. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Located directly opposite the Institutes of Mathematics and Physics, Tresznjewski is frequented mostly by students during the day, but good-looking and well-dressed night revelers gather here in the evenings and for brunch at the weekend. The atmosphere in the evenings is fairly party-like and you will be served decent but slightly expensive food by the good-looking and friendly yet overtaxed staff. The pub is slowly establishing itself as a meeting place for business people. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tex-Mex, Cocktails, & Books |
Tengstrasse 20 Schwabing Munich Germany +49 089 271 1445 |
The two owners are Bavarian and Texan and the atmosphere and food of this bar and restaurant reflect this unique mix. The Tex-Mex hangout is a favorite amongst the locals and even features a salsa made from genuine habanero peppers flown in from the U.S. The bar includes an extensive list of cocktails and there are often various drink promotions. The owners also run an English book swap. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This vegetarian restaurant serves lip smacking preparations, beverages and desserts. There's always something to look forward to as the menu changes every week. The restaurant seats around 20 people, reservations are therefore a wise way to go. Outdoor seating is available in summer. Special events happen time and again. All in all, Vegelangelo is a good place to dine even if you're not a vegetarian. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cramped but pleasant |
Türkenstraße 83 Maxvorstadt Munich, Bayern 80799 Germany +49 89 272 0699 |
This pleasant corner café in the university district is a little cramped inside but is still very cosy. It even has its own little kiosk outside, where you can buy everything you need for a pleasant afternoon in the university library. Vorstadt Café sells a number of excellent pasta dishes, better than you would expect for a student establishment, and priced accordingly. The service is very friendly. Review © 2007, Wcities |
