Thai cuisine without fast food |
Nymphenburger Straße 128 Neuhausen Munich, Bayern 80636 Germany +49 89 129 3190 |
An exceedingly traditional Thai restaurant, Chao Praya is the place many Munich people first encountered coconut milk, red basil and green curry. Opened ten years ago, the restaurant has managed to resist passing trends and makes no concessions to fast food or take-aways. You will have to allow some time for a meal here. Starters cost from (EUR 4.50-9), main courses are about (EUR 12). For something very exotic, try trout with ginger at (EUR 12.25). Food and ambience are in harmony, and while your tastebuds enjoy almost forgotten pleasures, your eyes will feast on dark furnishings and red-toned fittings bathed in soft light. Food and culture |
Lothringer Straße 7 Munich, Bayern 81667 Germany +49 (0)89 448 5797 |
This once used to be a simple Vietnamese Cultural Centre, where food was also served. But this small restaurant with its charming hand-written menus has now become one of the best addresses for Asian food in town. Munich's cultural scene indeed appreciates the delicious dishes. The steamed specialities are excellent, with main courses to be had for upwards of EUR 9. The interior is bright and simply decorated, but charming; the service unbeatable. Review © 2007, Wcities |
