The Tollwood Festival has established itself as a firm favorite among locals, quite probably because it makes a pleasant change from the oompah-band, beer-swilling type of festivity Munich is otherwise known for. The festival takes place every summer and winter, featuring live rock and pop acts as well as a smattering of jazz and world music bands, theatre ensembles, comedy and cabaret shows. There are plenty of vendors selling arts, crafts, food and drink. The little ones will enjoy several playgrounds, theatre shows and cultural workshops. Free admission. Review © 2009, Wcities
