Old Faithful Geyser of California

The real deal!

The term 'old faithful' is most closely associated with the Yellowstone Park geyser, but it is actually used to describe any geyser that erupts on a regular schedule. Napa Valley's version is a blast! Boiling hot water shoots 60 feet into the crystal blue sky, while spectators gather casually round and gasp every 30 minutes or so. Driving by, you might mistake this for a tourist trap; a little worn down, more than a little tacky from the outside; but rest assured, it really is worth the price of admission. Don't miss the poor little fainting goats on the side, and the fascinating exhibit on geyser eruptions and earthquake predictions. Seek out owner Olga Kolbek; she's a gold mine of fascinating local lore. Admission: $8 adults, $7 seniors (60+), $3 children 6-12; under 6 free.

Since the museum also doubles as a class room, the museum is open the public on the first Saturday of the month. Apart from the above mentioned the museum also includes an aviary, dioramas, Fossil and mineral collection. It is a great place to learn about the jungle people.

Six Flags Marine World

Animals + coasters = FUN
2001 Marine World Parkway
Napa Valley, CA 94589
United States
+1 707 643 6722
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/...
Formerly known as Marine World Africa U.S.A, this is the only combination wildlife park, oceanarium, and theme park in the country. Some of its most popular attractions include a killer whale show, water rides and roller coasters, an animal nursery, a family of elephants, and roaming cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny and Batman. There is so much to do, one day is never enough. So take the ferry across the bay or drive 30 minutes north from San Francisco to Vallejo and bring the kids to take in a sea lion show after you get splashed by Shouka, the resident 4,000-pound killer whale. Check out the new thrill ride The Vertical Velocity. Check website for admission prices and discounts.
