Located in a building that used to house a local dive called The Cellar, this hip lounge has been receiving rave reviews. It is a great place to pop in after work and spy on local politicians engaged in animated conversation over a drink, or catch the live music or occassional stand up comic on Friday and Saturday nights. Local artist Steven Gordon creates lovely pastels of Northern California and the Napa Valley area. Stop by his gallery and view the selection. Several limited edition prints are available and all can be ordered online. The works are very colorful, depicting all the scenery of the area: fog, sunlight, trees, vineyards, reservoirs, forest paths and the like. Established in 1979, Mumm Napa is a partnership between France's Mumm champagne family and American bourbon moguls Seagram & Sons. Visit the spacious tasting room, which features a glass wall overlooking acres of vineyards and an outdoor terrace. In addition to rotating exhibitions by some of America's most famous photographers, a photo gallery on the grounds houses a permanent display of the Ansel Adams collection 'The Story of a Winery'. The winery produces three sparkling wines: a Blanc de Noir (made from Pinot Noir grapes), a Blanc de Blanc (predominantly Chardonnay grapes) and a Brut Prestige (blend), as well as a vintage signature release, the Cuvee Napa DVX.
