Racing legend Mario Andretti established this Tuscan-inspired winery in 1996. Located on the southern end of the Napa Valley, the 53-acre vineyard produces Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Sauvignon Blanc vintages that are featured in the tasting room. Guests are encouraged to tour the 4,000-square-foot facility designed to look like a Tuscan villa. Up to 300 guests can be accommodated for private parties. The Winner's Circle Wine Club offers members two bottles of wine four times a year, recipes from Mario's kitchen that complement Andretti wines, discounts, a newsletter, special tours and tasting. Budo, the Japanese word for grapes gives you a clue as to what's on top of the menu served here. Apart from premium wine, this restaurant specializes in Asian cuisine. The restaurant offers five private dining areas to choose from and can accomodate a maximum of 150 guests. Overlooking the south golf course, the Royal Oak is one of three restaurants at the Silverado Resort. Massive beams, floor-to-ceiling picture windows and plush upholstered chairs create an elegantly relaxed ambiance. The tables allow ample legroom and private conversation. Dressy casual attire is appropriate and the service is sublime. Menu items are prepared using local produce, herbs, meats and poultry. Try the Mesquite-grilled Pork Tenderloin, Yakitori-style and the farm-raised Muscovy Duck Breast. Located in the Club House at the golf course, this is a relaxing spot for either breakfast before a game, a leisurely lunch, or a place to relax after the game with a drink. Casual dress, including tennis or golf attire, is appropriate. The breakfast menu features a nice variety of egg dishes, fresh fruit, pancakes and waffles. Lunch offerings include a soup and salad bar, inventive salads, sandwiches, burgers and light entrees. What happens here? Simple - everything. This place is 'with it', that is for sure. With events every night, and some seriously divine items on the menu, this Mediterranean, Portugal and Spain joint has it all. The décor is a mélange of local and international art, and if you look up, the Mexican tin ceiling just adds the perfect touch of Latino to the place. The music rocks!!!
