Racing champion's Tuscan villa |
4162 Big Ranch Road Napa, CA 94558 +1 707 261 1717 http://www.andrettiwinery.com info@andrettiwinery.com |
Racing legend Mario Andretti established this Tuscan-inspired winery in 1996. Located on the southern end of the Napa Valley, the 53-acre vineyard produces Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Sauvignon Blanc vintages that are featured in the tasting room. Guests are encouraged to tour the 4,000-square-foot facility designed to look like a Tuscan villa. Up to 300 guests can be accommodated for private parties. The Winner's Circle Wine Club offers members two bottles of wine four times a year, recipes from Mario's kitchen that complement Andretti wines, discounts, a newsletter, special tours and tasting. Wine anyone? |
974 Franklin Street Napa, CA 94559 +1 707 226 1378 / +1 877 322 2576 http://www.backroomwines.com/ |
Hard day at work? Need to unwind? Then this shop is for you. The best selection of wines can be found under this roof. Yet this shop offers more. There are a few wines for tasting at all times and also a lot of theme nights, like Friday Night Wine Flights, Guest Wineries at Back Room Wines on Saturdays and sit-down blind tastings on Wednesdays. And you can even buy a bottle of wine at retail price and drink it here. So if tea is all you drink, then here is a suggestion. Try a bit of wine, or just sip it. It's free! Review © 2007, Wcities |
On the platter |

Budo, the Japanese word for grapes gives you a clue as to what's on top of the menu served here. Apart from premium wine, this restaurant specializes in Asian cuisine. The restaurant offers five private dining areas to choose from and can accomodate a maximum of 150 guests. While the menu has some lipsmacking dishes like Miso crusted fois gras, Maine lobster and Coconut Tapioca, the wine list is equally innovative. Review © 2007, Wcities |
Linger on… |

Ever get the feeling that you're wanted to leave the minute you're done with a meal? This place is the opposite. The owner actually wants you to linger, relax and slow down. This café wishes to bring Europe to America, even the furniture is original Maison Gattie. Take delight in this simple eatery, which figures food from all parts of Europe (even the Angelina's chocolat chaud from Paris hmmm!). Review © 2007, Wcities |

Amidst luxurious settings and arched ceilings, Chef Charlie Palmer cooks up delicious meals to make Dry Creek Kitchen a special restaurant. Known for its 'Pork and Beans', this restaurant is easy on the pocket. Try the Hog Island Oysters or the Prime Beef Ribeye. Review © 2007, Wcities |

What happens here? Simple - everything. This place is 'with it', that is for sure. With events every night, and some seriously divine items on the menu, this Mediterranean, Portugal and Spain joint has it all. The décor is a mélange of local and international art, and if you look up, the Mexican tin ceiling just adds the perfect touch of Latino to the place. The music rocks!!! The Latin beats just envelop the place, which culminates into a fusion of good food, great décor and the best beats. Review © 2007, Wcities |
