The Anderson's Conn Valley has 26 acres of vineyards, divided into nine blocks. These produce above 16,000 cases annually. The vineyards are known for the artfully crafted blends like Éloge, Éloge Gold and the newest Bordaeaux-style blend, Right Bank. What is unique about this place is the extended time of barrel-aging in two underground caves. Wines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Éloge are stored for a minimum of two years in barrels, prior to bottling. This is the secret to wines of good colour, taste, and smell. Review © 2007, Wcities |

At Frog's Leap one will really get to know what true wine making is all about. Situated in the heart of Rutherford, here it is believed that a wine maker should allow the wine to develop with a distinct character of its own. Choosing grapes from a surrounding of 40 acres of vineyard, each grape varietal in here has a micro climate of its own. And this permits the wine to add in a strong character of the "terroir" it has emmanted from. Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Leapfrögmilch, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Rutherford, Zinfandel and Pink are some of the names made here which you can select from. To add to this they they have an in-house wine and accessories store from where you can pick your flavor. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This is NOT the Mondavi Winery, rather it is what used to be the Vichon Winery, acquired in 1985 by the Mondavi family and Associates. The new name was bestowed upon the winery in 1997 to reflect its production focus: all Italian varietals like sangiovese, nebbiolo, moscato bianco and barbera. The winery has a spectacular panoramic view of the Napa Valley. The grounds are nicely landscaped and tables can be reserved for $25 (includes a bottle of wine) at the popular picnic area. The Mayo Family Winery believes in the concept of single yard wines. This they contend, increases the aroma, taste and texture of the wine. The wine made here is exclusive and sold only at the tasting rooms and online. They are not distributed across the country. The beauty of visiting this winery is that they have four tasting rooms. One is attached to the winery. One is The Cellar Door where wines from many small wineries are available for tasting. The Third is in the Sonoma Plaza. The fourth and the most attractive one is the Reserve Room. Different from other tasting rooms, there are tables and chairs and offer seven wines to be tasted along with specially prepared dishes that match with the wine. Intimate and warm, this winery tasting rooms are a must to be visited. Review © 2007, Wcities |
