Seventeenth century Neapolitan painting |
107 Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli Naples 80138 Italy +39 8 144 4245 |
The Arts Institute found temporary accommodation in a wing of the Palazzo degli Studio which subsequently became an Archaeological Museum. In 1863, a new location was found for the Institute as part of the renovation of the Fosse del Grano (the wheat stores). The building represents one of the most significant projects of Alvino's career. The construction, which began in 1864, was completed after Alvino's death by his student Giuseppe Pisanti, who signed the monumental stairway in 1880. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cabaret in Naples' historical centre |
30 Via Portalba Naples 80134 Italy +39 81 549 9953 |
This Cabaret is located in the city's historical centre, in a zone which contains many restaurants and night spots. It is very well decorated and furnished inside. This is the haunt of the young people who dress in the latest fashions and who pay a lot of attention to their looks. The evenings are usually enlivened by Gino Carannante on the piano, and the Friday evenings organised by Mario Caruso's Solenotte are particularly good. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Recently redecorated, it has four modern auditoriums on two levels and can seat 855 people. There is a bar, which is air-conditioned. It's a good place to relax after a day's sightseeing. The programme is varied but the largest screen offers, of course, the current blockbusters. Review © 2007, Wcities |

All kinds of performances |
14 Via Conte di Ruvo Naples 80100 Italy +39 81 549 1266 |
This is one of the most prestigious and often visited buildings in the city, both from an architectural point of view, and with regard to the performances. A variety of performances are put on, from musical concerts to comedies - but they are all of a very high standard and performed by both Italian and foreign artistes. The theatre is situated near the historic city centre, close to both the 'Princes of Naples' gallery and the National Museum. It is therefore very easily accessible by all means of transport, from any part of the city. Review © 2007, Wcities |
