Located in a sheltered spot of the tree-lined piazza S. Di Giacomo on the hill in Posillipo. This cosy, confortable and air-conditioned restaurant, decorated in a warm walnut colour, has seating for about 80 people and weather permitting there are also tables outside where you can admire a beautifully paneled ceramic front and look out on the piazza. Old and renowned restaurant |
101-102 Discesa Coroglio Naples 80123 Italy +39 81 769 0744 |
This restaurant has a reputation that goes back over 50 years. It was founded in 1944 by Don Giovanni - grandfather of the current owners - as a tavern characterised by its hanging garden of prune trees. The garden is no more, but each course that is served up remains as authentic and delicious as ever. Over the years, the restaurant has attracted many famous customers such as Mogol, Lina Sastri and Roberto Murolo. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cuisine neapolitan |
Via Ascensione 6 Naples, Naples 80122 Italy +39 (0)81 41 3584 |
Neapolitan cuisine is known for its simple dishes and they are all cooked with fresh ingredients. The menu at Canterbury includes fresh seafood. Located in the upscale and chic district, the entire area has a bourgeois-like aura. The restaurant is cozy, homely and relaxed. Specialties include linguini with shrimp and mixed seafood. Pasta dishes are also very good here. This restaurant is close to the San Martino Museum. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Elegant and very popular |
34 Piazza Garibaldi Naples 80142 Italy +39 81 26 4730 |
The restaurant is situated on the central Piazza Garibaldi, next to the hotel by the same name. The 'Cavour' is without doubt one of the best restaurants in the area. It is elegant and tastefully decorated, with a lot of attention to detail. It consists of several medium-sized rooms, which are all air-conditioned. They contain tables and armchairs in classical style, which are both beautiful and comfortable. The ambience is quiet and friendly - ideal for both working lunches and intimate dinners. The cuisine is international, but with particular emphasis on typical Parthenopean specialities. The chef is extremely competent, and the ingredients used are always of the highest quality. Large, elegant restaurant |
Via Pallonetto a Santa Chiara Naples 80134 Italy +39 81 552 7383 |
This restaurant is housed in the monumental Carafa della Spina palace which has been recently restructured. The ambiance is warm and friendly, and the decor is fairly simple - but the finishing touches have all been added with great care. The precious wooden parquet floor is especially beautiful. The seating area is very comfortable, given that there is a lot of space between each table. The cuisine is typically Neopolitan, with a wide range of starters and fish, meat and vegetable dishes on offer. The first courses, prepared using fresh pasta, are a specialty. The wine selection - both regional and national - is excellent and served by competent staff. Review © 2007, Wcities |
