Pizzeria and restaurant in the central Vomero area
Via Cimarosa, Portici
Naples 80127
Italy
+39 81 578 5362
The restaurant is average size, and is furnished in a simple way, which makes it functional and comfortable. There is good service in a cordial, friendly atmosphere. Although there is not such a wide choice on the menu, it is nonetheless complete, and offers typical regional dishes and the main national foods. The starters and main courses are all good, but the true specialty here is pizza which is prepared in a traditional way as well as in more original ways with beans and pasta. It is advisable to use public transport to come here, especially during the day, because of the restaurant's central position and the lack of parking spaces in this area.

Only in Naples would you find a pizza shop that has been in business for more than 220 years! Founded in 1780, this traditional city centre pizzeria's claim to fame is that Margherita Pizzas were invented by their own Pietro il pizzaiuolo (Peter the pizza maker), in honor of Queen Margherita's visit to nearby Capodimonte. Brandi has two average-sized dining areas furnished in simple style. Although its menu has become more varied over the years, Pizza remains the big favourite.

Transatlantico

Restaurant and pizzeria
Piazzetta Marinari
Naples 80132
Italy
+39 81 764 8842
The name of this restaurant suits its location near the boats at Borgo Marinaro. The building is in a Liberty style and has beautiful windows, overlooking the sea. It has four dining rooms, all with at least 100 places. They are perfect for hosting business meetings because of their large size and the fact that they are equipped with video projectors and amplifiers. In the Transatlantico it is possible to try all types of Mediterranean cuisine. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. The restaurant also offers a wide range of homegrown vegetables, and home made wines and desserts. The pizzas are also excellent.

Trattoria Medina

Typical Neapolitan trattoria
32 Via Medina
Naples 80133
Italy
+39 81 551 5233
This is a typical Neapolitan trattoria, furnished in a rustic, but elegant style with fishing nets hanging from the ceiling. The walls are covered with frescoes representing ancient Naples. The trattoria is air-conditioned and has two floors. The lower floor is a pizzeria. It often has Neapolitan singers and a Panariello (small basket), which is used to lower your bill from the first floor to the ground floor. You can eat outside in the summer. The cuisine is typically Neapolitan - this is especially the case with the Pizzas. The Pignatielli are excellent, especially those made with tomato, ham and buffalo mozzarella.

Umberto

Restaurant founded in 1916
30-31 Via Alabardieri
Piazza dei Martiri
Naples 80121
Italy
+39 81 41 8555
This historical restaurant began life in 1916 as a small trattoria. It has always been very popular, and grew so much that in 1926 it had already become a type of modern restaurant/pizzeria. It is located near to the very elegant and exclusive Piazza Dei Martiri. It is air-conditioned. It has a very friendly atmosphere, and often has evenings of live music in which the guests and waiters all seem to end up getting involved.

Zorbas

Typical Greek tavern in the Liberty area
5 Via Corradino Di Svevia
Naples 80122
Italy
+39 81 66 7522
The restaurant is in the beautiful Piazza Amedeo area, which itself is only a minute's walk away. It can easily be seen from the street thanks to the luminous coloured sign. There is easy parking in the immediate vicinity. This is a typical Greek tavern, which is reproduced through rustic surroundings and the lively atmosphere. Discrete lighting, wooden tables and other typical particulars add to its atmosphere. Naturally, Greek food is predominant here, even if the rules are bent in some ways; don't miss the dishes containing Feta Cheese and the many specialities with Meat.

Zì  Teresa

Mediterranean tradition
1 Via Marinaro, Casandrino
Naples
Italy
+39 81 764 2565
The trattoria, "Zia" (Aunt) Teresa was created in 1916 in one of the small shops of the hamlet Marinaro; this was the name of the energetic woman who daily prepared tasty meals for the fishermen and workers of the place. Zì Teresa is now one of the most famous places to eat in Naples, where politicians and famous stars visit. The cuisine specialises in Mediterranean dishes with emphasis on local recipes but there are also traditional Italian dishes.
