Alternative music hall and bar |
2219 Elliston Place Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 321 4457 |
Located in the middle of the Elliston "Rock Block," this unassuming nightspot provides alternative music lovers a place to see their favorite local artists. The room is small, but the stage is always rocking with the latest of Nashville's aspiring rock stars. In the bar, the quietest spot in the club, you can carry on a conversation, but you don't come to The End to talk. You come here to dance, listen to great live music and see who else actually found a parking space in this busy district. Parking is a problem, so the big lot near Vanderbilt University across the street is your best bet. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Friendly bar near Centennial Park |

Possibly the city's oldest watering hole, this little bar has been here so long that the current owner does not even know when it was first built. Just be glad it was, because there's no place like it in town. Nothing fancy about the interior, which consists of a large room with a good stage and bar. The crowd is interesting most nights, but not nearly as interesting as the music. Bands, from country to punk rock, take the stage every weekend. There is never a cover charge and never a dull moment here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Country music tradition |
422 Broadway Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 726 0463 http://www.tootsies.net |
Long ago, when country music superstars were performing at the Grand Ole Opry, this lounge became famous for featuring those stars when the "big show" was over. Fans still come here to see top-name performers and local artists alike, and the atmosphere hasn't changed a bit. The stage is small, but the sound is still huge and country music lovers still ring up enormous bar tabs, just like in the old days. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Eclectic music and more |
112 Second Avenue North Nashville, TN 37201 United States +1 615 251 0097 http://www.windowsonthecumberl... |
Unlike many downtown music venues, this intimate music hall has character and atmosphere. Tall windows line the wood-paneled walls and actually do overlook the Cumberland River. The narrow room features a small stage and a small balcony. The tables are normally pushed to the walls to make room for dancing, and there's plenty of reason to dance. A local band kicks off the show every night at five with an "unplugged" set, followed by the nightly headliner. Saturday night is old-time country night and Sundays feature the sounds of the islands with reggae bands. Come in and enjoy a brew, listen to some tunes and dance the night away. No cover charge.
