Boswell's Harley Davidson Grill

Legendary motorcycles and burgers
401 Fessler's Ln
Nashville, TN 37210
United States
+1 615 242 6067
http://www.boswellsharley.com/...
Theme restaurants come and go, but few allow you to eat your meal atop a Harley Lowrider. Here in this clever diner, patrons are treated to cheeseburgers and smoked sausage sandwiches as good as any around. You can also purchase Harley Davidson clothing, gift items and motorcycle accessories. The decor is strictly "Hell's Angels" but the service is warm and friendly. Saunter back into the motorcycle showroom and pick out your dream hog or straddle one of the motorcycle seat bar stools for breakfast. One thing you won't find here are the immense crowds normally associated with such theme establishments. Expect to pay $7 for a good sized burger, $10 if you choose the fries, and you really should. They are delicious.

Bunganut Pig

Unique Restaurant and Music Hall
1143 Columbia Avenue
Nashville, TN 37064
United States
+1 615 794 4777
http://www.bunganutpig.com/
Nestled in the quiet setting of Carter's Court, this cozy pub serves classic British "pub grub" and features live music nightly. A warm and friendly wait staff and pleasant atmosphere create a perfect setting to relax over a stout and a juicy steak. But don't get too relaxed, the music starts at 8pm each night, and there is very little quiet time after that. Come early, and enjoy a good meal. Don't forget to ask your server to tell you the "Pig Story."

The Westgate Commons shopping area is getting very crowded these days. There are a dozen or more restaurants competing for your business. The fun atmosphere and delicious food offered at this Mexican restaurant set it apart from the other contenders. You are virtually guaranteed a great meal and a great time every time you stop by.

Let's start with the menu. This is traditional Mexican food (enchiladas, tamales, burritos, etc.) served American style. That means you get lots of free salsa and chips before your meal, and enormous portions of whatever you order. The bar is ready to quench your thirst with 10 different margaritas.

Dalt's

Classic American Diner
38 White Bridge Rd
Nashville, TN 37205
United States
+1 615 352 8121
Sometimes forgotten amidst the mass of other eateries near Lion's Head Cinema, this classic American diner made a name for itself with simple, elegant food and outstanding service. Malts, shakes and burgers are standard fare here, but they are far from ordinary; they are made with real milk and are thick and creamy; burgers are enormous and come dressed with everything from mushrooms and Swiss cheese to slices of smoked turkey. The best selection on the menu is the chicken salad quesadilla, but the eclectic menu has something for everyone. A visit here is not complete without the chocolate malt pie.

J. Alexander's

Casually elegant dining
73 White Bridge Road
Suite 130
Nashville, TN 37205
United States
+1 615 352 0981
http://www.jalexanders.com/
The décor is simple and understated, yet elegant and tasteful. Linen tablecloths, dark woods and glass accents lend themselves well to the romantic atmosphere. Start your meal with an outrageously tasty Caesar salad. Choose one of the fresh seafood entrees or a thick, juicy steak so tender it literally falls off the bone. Southwestern chicken pasta is a hot and spicy selection. Alcohol and soft beverages are served.

Your meal begins with a bucket of peanuts and perhaps a drink from the bar. Toss the shells on the floor and sip your favorite import or domestic brew while you wait for your table. Select a seat outdoors on the patio during warmer months.

What's good to eat here? Burgers are the staple. Thick, juicy and full of flavor, these American classics are the best in town. Other menu mainstays include chicken club sandwiches, pasta dishes and enormous salads. Bring your friends and a hearty appetite and enjoy an evening among the peanuts.

Merchant's Restaurant

Depart from the ordinary
401 Broadway
Nashville, TN 37203
United States
+1 615 254 1892

The brick and glass exterior is a departure from the historic downtown design, and the art deco lighting highlights the wrought iron and copper fixtures inside. Patrons will enjoy the counter seats surrounding the open kitchen.

The menu here is the same classic that has made Merchant's famous in the Nashville area: crab cakes, Five-Pepper Chicken and robust beef entrees. The express lunch is still available and an expanded children's menu has been added.

Peanuts Cafe

Casual hangout
7695 River Rd Pike
Nashville, TN 37209
United States
+1 615 356 6314
A friendly barkeep nicknamed Peanut spends his days serving short-order treats and domestic beer. His cafe is something of a local legend, and consistently ranks high among Nashville's favorite hangouts. The food is pretty standard: burgers, sandwiches, chips and dip. However, it's surprisingly good, served with a smile and gripping conversation from Peanut himself. The casual atmosphere is perfect for meeting friends and swapping stories about your day. Don't plan on staying late, though, Peanut closes shop at 9pm.

Sportsman's Grill

Part Sports Bar, Part Restaurant
5405 Harding Rd
Nashville, TN 37205
United States
+1 615 356 6206
There are enough televisions and dartboards to make it a sports bar, enough beer to make it a pub, and food good enough for a restaurant. Whatever you want to call it, you'll love the enormous salads, fresh spicy bread and home-style cooking. Catch a game on television while enjoying a cold beer and some chicken wings (two levels of spiciness). If you're looking for more substantial fare, the menu also offers catfish platters, fried steak and delicious Cajun rice selections.

Twin Kegs

Drinking is serious business
413 Thompson Lane
Nashville, TN 37211
United States
+1 615 832 3167
This is a bar, plain and simple. However, the crowd sets it apart. You'll never have so much fun in a bar as you will here. Some of the regulars, a right friendly bunch, have been coming here for decades, and they tell stories all night long, most of them true. Video games, pool tables and shuffleboard offer a little sporting activity. Order your favorite domestic beer as ordering an import will earn you a strange look from the bartender and sit back to enjoy the storytelling. Yuppies and college students stay east of this place, and it isn't the best place for dates or business meetings, but it's a great place for regular folks to enjoy a tall tale and a tall drink.

U.S. Border Cantina

Authentic Flavors from South of the Border
7105 Highway 70 S
Nashville, TN 37221
United States
+1 615 646 4100
http://www.usbordercantina.com/
The food here is authentic, and the decor is reminiscent of a Mexican cantina. Begin your meal with margarita and basket of tortilla chips with fresh salsa perfect for dipping. Move on to one of the traditional favorites, like chicken fajitas or enchiladas. Adventurous types should try the Shrimp Tamales, an interesting twist on an old favorite. Vegetarian plates and daily specials are available and the full-service bar will prepare your favorite mixed drink.
