Authentic brew pub |
1918 West End Avenue Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 327 9969 http://www.blackstonebrewery.com |
This is a great choice for casual dining with a group of friends. This is one of the few places where the thirty-somethings outnumber the kids. The food here is not spectacular, but the pizzas do merit some praise. These are the build-your-own variety with ample amounts of vegetables, meats and cheeses, and your choice of crust. The real draw is the beer. All varieties are brewed on-site and include something for everyone—lager, ale, pilsner, stout, pale— you name it, they brew it. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Home brew and home cooking |
1805 21st Avenue South (At Belcourt) Nashville, TN 37212 United States +1 615 385 0050 http://www.boscosbeer.com |
If you normally shy away from brew pubs because the food takes a back seat to the beer, welcome to the exception to that rule. Bosco's turns out some of the finest food in Nashville, as well as an extensive selection of beers brewed onsite. The Brewmaster's Dinner is a sampling of different entrees prepared exclusively by Bosco's master chef, and each is served with a different brew. A visit here is like an education in food and beverage pairing, and it's a lot of fun. The menu is filled with bistro-style food, pleasantly presented with care by chef Raoul Tallion. Check website for calendar of events. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Romantic Tapas restaurant and bar |
911 20th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37212 United States +1 615 321 3043 http://pansouth.net/boundry-ma... |
This is no ordinary Tapas restaurant; the Bound'ry infuses life into food. It is famous for its unique presentation of Flapjacks—tiny pancakes topped with sauteed lobster, roasted pistachios, apples and Indian spices. The menu changes frequently, but standby favorites include Ostrich, Paella, Cajun Veal Chops and Barbeque Chicken-Crawfish Manicotti. The kitchen isn't the only star here. The bar is a premier spot for gathering with old friends or making new ones. The extensive beer selection includes foreign, domestic and micro-brewed beers and fine wines. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hot food, hot times |
1900 Broadway at 19th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 321 3363 http://www.BroadwayBrewhouse.net/ |
The Broadway Brewhouse & Mojo is Louisiana Cajun style cooking in a casual environment, served up with the largest selection of beer in town. Making this establishment a popular nightspot. Jambalaya and gumbo are never short on heat and are always chock full of crawfish, unlike some of the other so-called Cajun eateries around town. Lovers of Southwestern food will be thrilled to find tortilla dishes loaded with rice and beans, rich sauces and hearty spices. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Alternative music hall and bar |
2219 Elliston Place Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 321 4457 |
Located in the middle of the Elliston "Rock Block," this unassuming nightspot provides alternative music lovers a place to see their favorite local artists. The room is small, but the stage is always rocking with the latest of Nashville's aspiring rock stars. In the bar, the quietest spot in the club, you can carry on a conversation, but you don't come to The End to talk. You come here to dance, listen to great live music and see who else actually found a parking space in this busy district. Parking is a problem, so the big lot near Vanderbilt University across the street is your best bet. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Eight-hour happy hour |
2200 Elliston Place Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 320 9441 |
This is a great place to head if you are looking for an eight-hour happy hour, 11a-7p daily or a great place to shoot pool and drink beer. The bar serves nearly 30 types of beer and exceptional food brought over from Mosko's next door. All five pool tables cost $3 per hour before 7p, $6 per hour thereafter. Tournament leagues meet on Wednesday nights, so unless you're looking for competition, come another day. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Legendary country music beer bar |
1010 16th Ave South Nashville, TN 37212 United States +1 615 726 0446 |
Country Music stars Travis Tritt and Lorrie Morgan have visited this tavern, along with Lee Roy Purnell and David Lee Murphy. What brings them here? Tradition. For decades Dianne and Bobby Herald have hosted up-and-coming artists in what they call "a little old beer bar." Sure, they serve beer, but they also serve some of the best live country music in Nashville. Top artists still come by to perform for the packed house, and they usually stick around to toss back a cold one. Domestic beer is cheap enough at $1.75, and chips and pizza are served all night. '40s-style pool hall |
2600 Franklin Rd Nashville, TN 37204 United States +1 615 383 9201 |
Back in 1942 this was Nashville's only billiards parlor. The hall underwent a massive renovation to restore its 40s decor. New Brunswick tables, 12 in all, provide ample playing space for beginners and sharks alike. If running the table makes you hungry, try the best red beans and rice this side of New Orleans. The kitchen also offers typical bar food like burgers and wings. Draft and bottled beer and mixed drinks provide refreshment while you put a little English on the ball. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Soul food and soul music |
1114 Charlotte Ave Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 242 6650 |
The name may refer to things modern, but the location is anything but new. Located in the historic downtown district, this is a great venue for live jazz performances, which are featured each weekend. Wednesday night is comedy night, and Sunday offers a taste of the Music City's local country scene. When you get hungry and thirsty, try the real soul food and the domestic brews. Friendly bar near Centennial Park |
115 27th Avenue North Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 320 0345 http://www.springwatersuppercl... |
Possibly the city's oldest watering hole, this little bar has been here so long that the current owner does not even know when it was first built. Just be glad it was, because there's no place like it in town. Nothing fancy about the interior, which consists of a large room with a good stage and bar. The crowd is interesting most nights, but not nearly as interesting as the music. Bands, from country to punk rock, take the stage every weekend. There is never a cover charge and never a dull moment here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Comfortable Atmosphere, Fun Food |
5 Opry Mills Drive Nashville, TN 37214 United States +1 615 514 4900 http://www.tgifridays.com/ |
The TGI Friday's is one of the most popular joints around Nashville. Crowds flock here for familiar favorites like Shrimp Friday's or the Texas Skewers (beef, chicken and shrimp sauteed and served with veggies on long skewers). This is the same as any other Friday's you've seen, except that each night the manager instructs the kitchen to "work up" a special item. It may be fried catfish with sauteed onions or a tasty slice of spinach and pesto pizza. Whatever they come up with, diners delight in the change of pace. The bar stays open until 3am and provides libations of all types: import and domestic beers, mixed drinks and a fair wine selection. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Virago is a flashy Nashville nightspot known for its Sushi and beautiful clientele. But don't be fooled by the glitzy exterior - the spectacular Asian-Fusion menu has something for everyone. In addition to great food, diners can dance off their dinner to the latest music. Serving some of the finest Sushi in the city, Virago has a nice dinner crowd of all ages hungry for this delicacy.
