Ethiopian flavor in the Music City |
415 Thompson Lane Nashville, TN 37211 United States +1 615 332 0710 |
Your meal is served on large, flat, round bread. This is a staple of the Ethiopian culture and is much like sourdough. The bread is topped with an assortment of fresh vegetables (the Ethiopian diet consists mostly of vegetables and cheese). Small bowls of sauces and spices are brought to your table for dipping. Don't look for utensils, because Ethiopian chow is eaten without fork or knife. Instead, tear off a piece of the thin, pancake like injera bread, scoop up some veggies and dip into your favorite sauce. Imported and domestic beer is served. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Nashville's only Persian restaurant |
216 Thompson Lane Nashville, TN 37211 United States +1 615 333 3711 |
Turkish cuisine is not necessarily something Nashville natives are accustomed to, but this small Persian eatery is trying to change that. The pleasant wait staff makes a good first impression, and will gladly help you choose from the many delicious dishes served here. Lamb and beef entrees are accompanied by spicy rice dishes and garden fresh salads. Gyros (pronounced hee-rohs) and kabobs are the most popular lunch items. The soups, prepared fresh daily, are also reliably good. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Melrose Area Family Dining |
2330 Franklin Rd Nashville, TN 37204 United States +1 615 269 9716 |
Family dining isn't always easy to find in the Melrose area of Nashville, but this comfortable eatery provides a pleasant atmosphere and good food at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is the best time to experience this place, and it is indeed an experience. Waitresses rush from table to table serving dishes of eggs and sausage, pancakes and bacon, grits and biscuits. Lunch is typical meat-and-three fare, with chicken or beef entrees served with two side items. Mashed potatoes, creamed corn, white beans, turnip greens and spinach are some of the delicious sides. Vegetable plates are an option for those looking for something almost healthy here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Extra-ordinary Popsicles |
2907, 12th Ave S Nashville, TN 37204 United States +1 615 386 2101 http://www.wheresthesign.com/ |
These amazing paletas, or gourmet popsicles, are made daily with fresh ingredients. Fruit-flavored paletas vary according to availability of produce, but the menu often includes such exotic favorites as mango, strawberry, honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, and pineapple. Ice cream paletas are also available in flavors ranging from coconut to chocolate to rose petal. Exotic combinations such as cucumber and hot pepper or basil vanilla add a bit of excitement for adventurous guests. The only caution about Las Paletas is that it's easy to miss. It is unmarked, but located on the ground floor of the art-deco Cypress building at the corner of 12th Avenue and Kirkwood. While it might be easy to miss, these delicious popsicles are hard to forget! -Lynn-nore Chittom Review © 2007, Wcities |
