Gourmet Bagels and More... |
422 21st Ave (at Scarritt Place) Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 327 0055 http://www.alpinebagels.com/ |
This is a fun place to eat breakfast or lunch. Portraits of great artists like Van Gough and rock musician Jerry Garcia hang on the walls. Top your bagel with roast beef, ham, bacon and tomato spread and you have a "Hoss Cartwright." It's just one of the signature bagels offered here. The most popular offering is the spinach Parmesan bagel with artichoke-parmesan cream cheese. The "Pedro Gonzales," with turkey, green chilies and jalapeno spread, makes a real impression on the taste buds. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Southern food, southern hospitality |
4534 Harding Road Nashville, TN 37205 United States +1 615 298 5571 http://www.bellemeadecafeteria... |
Forget low fat, health conscious, low calorie food. This place serves delicious Southern American classics. The menu changes daily, and selections include Meatloaf with Creole Sauce and Fresh Whipped Potatoes, Jambalaya with Brown Rice, Roast Round of Beef au Jus, and Grilled Fresh Salmon. Desserts offer a Cobbler du Jour, Egg Custard, and Fudge Pie. There is a nice touch of southern hospitality here. A staff of white-coated waiters brings your tray to your table, and remain close by to serve you. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Good bagels, great service |
5311 Harding Road Nashville, TN 37205 United States +1 615 352 1128 http://www.brueggers.com/ |
These may not be Nashville's best bagels, but this friendly bakery does provide Nashville's fastest and finest service. The good bagels come in a wide variety of flavors, as do the delicious spreads and toppings, but the best feature of this establishment is its speed. The clever ordering system takes some getting used to (place order here, pick up bagel, go find toppings, pay over there) but this assembly-line method gets you in and out in a hurry and on your way to work. Brewed fresh each morning, the coffee is as good as any gourmet blend in town. Lunch includes light sandwiches, soups and, of course, more bagels. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Don't know what to prepare for dinner? Take home an entire gourmet meal, ready to be served in minutes. Choose from fresh salads and vegetables, roasted duck, chicken and fish. Popular downtown lunch counter |
112 2nd Ave North Nashville, TN 37201 United States +1 615 726 3171 |
Hot Dogs are the house specialty and come dressed in chili, cheese, mustard, pickles and onions. This is the kind of dog you might find in Chicago, except here you can get dollar-draft beers to wash it down. There's also the "Kitchen's" Philly cheese steak with melted pepper jack cheese or one of their tasty burritos. White bean chicken chili is a favorite, too. Diners fortunate enough to find a table during lunch can enjoy anything on the menu for only five dollars, and that comes with chips and a soda. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Melrose Area Family Dining |
2330 Franklin Rd Nashville, TN 37204 United States +1 615 269 9716 |
Family dining isn't always easy to find in the Melrose area of Nashville, but this comfortable eatery provides a pleasant atmosphere and good food at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is the best time to experience this place, and it is indeed an experience. Waitresses rush from table to table serving dishes of eggs and sausage, pancakes and bacon, grits and biscuits. Lunch is typical meat-and-three fare, with chicken or beef entrees served with two side items. Mashed potatoes, creamed corn, white beans, turnip greens and spinach are some of the delicious sides. Vegetable plates are an option for those looking for something almost healthy here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fabulous gourmet doughnuts |

A favorite among musicians from the nearby Bluebird Cafe, this shop offers nighthawks and early birds fresh java and the best cake doughnuts in town. The menu board features specialty doughnuts daily, some created on a whim. Doughnut creations in the display case may include Chocolate Raspberry, Maple Syrup and Blueberry Apple. Old fashioned soda shop |
2111 Elliston Place Nashville, TN 37203-5203 United States +1 615 327 1090 |
Don't let the 'retro' décor at this diner fool you. The owner didn't redecorate to fit the current trend; he hasn't changed a thing since the shop opened in the 1950s. The great food and service that made this famous also remain the same. Burgers and shakes are the standard here, but you can also get a good 'meat-and-three' meal as well. While this Nashville landmark was made famous by the movie, "Sweet Dreams: The Patsy Cline Story" starring Jessica Lange, its popularity with downtown workers and Vanderbilt University students is attributed mainly to its casual atmosphere and delicious food. Fresh Baked Bread and Goodies Galore |
3900 Hillsboro Pike Nashville, TN 37215 United States +1 615 298 1032 http://www.greatharvest.com/ |
As the name suggests, this establishment is all about bread. You'll find standards like Honey Wheat and Sunflower Wheat, but the specialty breads bring the masses back again and again to taste baking perfection. Thrilling creations like Basil Parmesan, Cranberry Orange and Onion Dill change the bread routine. Choose any of these breads as the basis of a hearty sandwich made with fresh meats, veggies and cheeses. Muffins, cookies, and rich soups are also made fresh. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Delicious combos |
4098 Nolensville Pike Nashville, TN 37211-4516 United States +1 615 832 9633 http://www.ihop.com/ |
The sweet smelling aroma of steaming pancakes is enough to draw you to this popular hang out. A popular chain, this place enjoys great fame serving pancakes, waffles, sausages and the usual American breakfast favorites. Take your pick from the various options, namely Regular Combo, Big Combo and Sampler Combo. Before leaving, don't forget to try the scrumptious fruit-topped funnel cakes (with a vanilla scoop). The only downside is that it can get really crowded. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Historic Franklin Bakery |
110 4th Ave S Nashville, TN 37064 United States +1 615 790 3755 http://www.merridees.com/ |
This hometown bakery makes the great rolls and breads found in local grocery stores, but visitors to the downtown Franklin area can enjoy some of the bakery's other treats. Biscuits, doughnuts and muffins make good breakfast choices. Sit down for a leisurely lunch with chicken salad sandwiches served on the shop's famous fresh baked bread. Planning a picnic? Ask for sandwiches, desserts and lemonade to go before you head out into the Tennessee countryside. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Late Night New York style Deli |
1918 Broadway Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 329 6674 http://noshville.com/ |
You'll find an East Coast style delicatessen, authentic right down to the deli counter lined with Knishes, Pickled Herring, and Nova Lox (not to mention the bowl of pickles that comes gratis at every table). Smoked Fish platters, a bit expensive for breakfast at $10, are wonderful with bagels and cream cheese. The sandwiches are unique and pleasantly large. Each cost around $9. Pancake lovers will devour all the potato pancakes the chef can serve up, and eggs are served any style until 4pm. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The best breakfast in town |

After 30 years of serving pancakes, this Village tradition is more popular then ever. The secret to the "Pantry's" success is simple: delicious pancakes served the way you want them. Whether it's the standard buttermilk variety or one of the many specialty designs, you will be delighted with the light, fluffy hotcakes and the delicious syrups and toppings. Raspberry pancakes with whipped cream is the most popular item on the menu, but you'll be hard pressed to find a selection you don't love at first bite. Review © 2007, Wcities |

4334 Harding Rd Nashville, TN 37205 United States +1 615 297 5398 http://www.thepicniccafe.com/ |
