Bruegger's Bagel Bakery

Good bagels, great service
5311 Harding Road
Nashville, TN 37205
United States
+1 615 352 1128
http://www.brueggers.com/
These may not be Nashville's best bagels, but this friendly bakery does provide Nashville's fastest and finest service. The good bagels come in a wide variety of flavors, as do the delicious spreads and toppings, but the best feature of this establishment is its speed. The clever ordering system takes some getting used to (place order here, pick up bagel, go find toppings, pay over there) but this assembly-line method gets you in and out in a hurry and on your way to work. Brewed fresh each morning, the coffee is as good as any gourmet blend in town. Lunch includes light sandwiches, soups and, of course, more bagels.

Kijiji

Jamaican-style coffee, live jazz
1207 Jefferson Street
Nashville, TN 37208
United States
+1 615 321 0403
http://www.kijijicoffeehouse.com
Combining live jazz music and real Jamaican flavor, this java stop has become very popular with Fisk University students. The name Kijiji is Swahili for "village," and the name fits this comfortable, friendly village-like setting, which is a change from the more sanitized coffee shops in the area. Choose from several varieties of flavored coffee and Granitas (Italian sodas). Should you need a little more nourishment than a strong cup of joe, the kitchen can help with a hearty roast turkey or chicken sandwich.

Puffy Muffin

Fabulous Bakery and Cafe
231 Franklin Rd
Nashville, TN 37027
United States

Not only do Brentwood residents love this comfortable eatery, hungry folks from surrounding towns flock here for fresh baked breads and muffins. While breakfast is a busy time here, the lunch crowd keeps Lynda on her toes as well. Croissants filled with ham and cheese and the zesty chicken casserole are favorites. If you can't get enough of the fresh baked bread, don't worry, you can take a loaf or two home with you.

Sam and Zoe's

Hippie-style coffeehouse
525 Heather Place
Nashville, TN 37204
United States
+1 615 385 2676
Java heaven is the best way to describe this understated espresso shop. Inside the old house off Branford Avenue you will find wonderful coffees, bagels, smoothies, sandwiches and pastries. Poetry readings on Wednesday nights and live music on Fridays and Saturdays create a 1960s feel. Most performers are little-known local talent, but there are surprises on the small stage from time to time. This is Nashville, after all.
