Ever hear of Garth Brooks? That's right, his first performance was at the Bluebird. And it is this mystique that calls young singers and songwriters looking for their chance at stardom. Monday nights are open-mike, so take your chances with the unknown acts. This is a haven for the struggling artist and the established country star, making it a Nashville tradition for both locals and tourists. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fast, friendly Chinese restaurant |
3900 Hillsboro Road Nashville, TN 37215 United States +1 615 269 3275 |
It may not win any awards for authentic Chinese decor, but the food here takes top prize. The menu offers traditional Chinese favorites like moo goo gai pan, fried rice, beef broccoli and kung pao chicken, but the buffet is the destination of most diners. Over 20 selections are offered each day on the enormous serving line. Alongside the oriental delicacies are a few not-so-Asian favorites like macaroni and cheese, french fries and chicken wings, proof that Chinese food takes a back seat to deep fried goodness in Nashville. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, Fire of Brazil is the place for you. The 6000-square-foot area of the restaurant accommodates up to 200 guests, but the wooden décor still manages to impart a cozy feel to it. What's more, waiters dressed up as Gauchos do the rounds of each table, carrying a variety of meats. You can take your pick, which is then roasted, seasoned and presented with your choice of salad. A private dining room is also available for private gatherings and business lunches. Review © 2007, Wcities |

You'll find standards like Honey Wheat and Sunflower Wheat, but the specialty breads bring the masses back again and again to taste baking perfection. Thrilling creations like Basil Parmesan, Cranberry Orange and Onion Dill change the bread routine. Choose any of these breads as the basis of a hearty sandwich made with fresh meats, veggies and cheeses. Muffins, cookies, and rich soups are also made fresh. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Extra-ordinary Popsicles |
2907, 12th Ave S Nashville, TN 37204 United States +1 615 386 2101 http://www.wheresthesign.com/ |
These amazing paletas, or gourmet popsicles, are made daily with fresh ingredients. Fruit-flavored paletas vary according to availability of produce, but the menu often includes such exotic favorites as mango, strawberry, honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, and pineapple. Ice cream paletas are also available in flavors ranging from coconut to chocolate to rose petal. Exotic combinations such as cucumber and hot pepper or basil vanilla add a bit of excitement for adventurous guests. The only caution about Las Paletas is that it's easy to miss. It is unmarked, but located on the ground floor of the art-deco Cypress building at the corner of 12th Avenue and Kirkwood. While it might be easy to miss, these delicious popsicles are hard to forget! -Lynn-nore Chittom Review © 2007, Wcities |

Romantic Mexican restaurant |
3808 Cleghorn Avenue Nashville, TN 37215 United States +1 615 383 5200 http://www.lapaz.com/ |
If you are tired of chimichangas without character, fajitas without sizzle and quesadillas without pizzazz, step into a world of creative Southwestern cuisine. Nowhere else will you find quesadillas filled with salmon and pesto sauce or squash filled tortillas. In fact everything here is served with a dash of creativity, and it is a welcome change from ordinary Mexican fare. The spacious dining room is tastefully decorated in a Southwestern theme, and the outdoor patio offers a relaxing setting for sipping margaritas. Imported and domestic beers help quench the fire from the food, and the soft lighting and quiet music calm you down. Review © 2007, Wcities |
