Bros offers spicy, authentic, delicious Cajun cooking at a very reasonable price in a comfortable café atmosphere. The service is excellent and the establishment welcomes regulars like they're part of the family. If you're new to Cajun food and don't know what to order go for the House Sampler. You'll get a reasonable portion of all of the regular menu items including Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, Shrimp Creole, Red Beans and Rice, cornbread and your choice of side according to availability. If they're serving turnip greens on the day you visit, go for it, they're fantastic! Authentic Tennessee barbecue |
1212 West Main Street Nashville, TN 37075 United States +1 615 824 9330 |
This restaurant provides the Music City area with some of the best barbecue pork and chicken around. The kitchen makes sandwiches, platters and ribs, and that's all, except for an occasional pie for dessert. The enormous sandwiches come piled high with chopped pork or chicken, and dinner platters come with your choice of side orders. The white beans are a popular choice. If you're planning a party or picnic, call ahead and pick up a slab or two of ribs, smothered in spices and served with a quart of rich, tangy sauce. Soft beverages only. Review © 2007, Wcities |

New Orleans Dining in Downtown Nashville |
1721, Church Street Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615-322-9932 http://www.chappys.com |
After the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, Chappy's Seafood Restaurant relocated to downtown Nashville and reopened as Chappy's on Church. This authentic New Orleans restaurant features live jazz music, an outstanding menu of Cajun and Creole delights and an atmosphere of beautiful stained glass and fine art. Rather than side booths, Chappy's includes a number of individual enclaves for private seating, which enable guests to hear the music and also enjoy dinner-table conversation. The food and service are both fabulous and the desserts are decadent-mile-high and delicious-especially the C'est Magnifique coconut cake. You might need a take-home tray just for the dessert. -Lynn-nore Chittom Review © 2007, Wcities |

Delicious Barbecue, Kid-Friendly |
100 Franklin Rd Nashville, TN 37027 United States +1 615 890 1742 http://www.corkysbbq.com/ |
From the moment you walk through the doors, you'll bebop to the oldies music blaring throughout the dining area, and you'll enjoy the lively banter between the wait staff and the kitchen. It's almost a '50s-style diner setting, without the pink neon and soda counter. The food here is almost as good as the atmosphere. The magnificent Overstuffed Baked Potato is a large Idaho potato baked to perfection and topped with butter, barbecue and cheese. Barbecue beef, chicken and turkey sandwiches and platters satisfy your hot and spicy cravings. Kids have their own menu featuring "pint-sized" barbecue sandwiches, chicken wings and hotdogs. Corky's serves domestic and imported beer in bottles and on tap. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fast Paced, Inexpensive Eatery |
300 Commerce Street Nashville, TN 37201 United States +1 615 895 3701 http://www.demosrestaurants.com/ |
This is a great place for a family meal or business lunch. Garden salads and pasta dishes are the most prominent items on the menu, but you will find a few steak selections as well. The house special is a basic, yet delicious, spaghetti and meatballs plate, and your meal always begins with hot buttered bread. Be warned: this is not the place for a leisurely lunch or romantic dinner. The pace is quick. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Delicious Steaks and More |
1101 Murfreesboro Road Nashville, TN 37064-3006 United States +1 615 591 7666 |
In case the name didn't give it away, the specialty here is meat. Chicken, ribs and beef are served up in classic American style. Enormous portions and reasonable prices make this restaurant a favorite with families and large groups. The menu deviates from the basic meat dishes every so often with pasta and seafood platters. They are equally tasty and reasonably priced. Extra hungry patrons choosing should try the authentic Maryland Crab Cakes for an appetizer. Dessert lovers must indulge in the Oreo Cookie ice cream pie. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The décor is simple and understated, yet elegant and tasteful. Linen tablecloths, dark woods and glass accents lend themselves well to the romantic atmosphere. Start your meal with an outrageously tasty Caesar salad. Choose one of the fresh seafood entrees or a thick, juicy steak so tender it literally falls off the bone. Southwestern chicken pasta is a hot and spicy selection. Alcohol and soft beverages are served. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Long ago, during the days when alcohol was prohibited throughout the United States, there was a little known place to go in Nashville for some of the forbidden elixir. Old-timers fondly remember the succulent steaks and warm atmosphere of this homey Southern restaurant. You can still come here for a delicious steak today. Toss back a beer or two and relax while the white-gloved wait staff attends to your every need. Dine on the outdoor patio or the glassed-in porch when the temperature allows. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hibachi-style Japanese Steakhouse |
210 25th Ave N Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 327 9081 |
The food here is delicious, but it takes a back seat to the flamboyance of the chefs who prepare it. Hibachi-style grills are the stage on which these culinary performers prepare your meal with daring and drama. The flying knives and spinning spatulas dazzle you, as your choice of steak, shrimp or chicken is cooked along with rice, vegetables and other goodies. This is a great place for casual business dining or a first date. It promises outstanding value, and an entertaining night out. Valet parking is complimentary. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Your meal begins with a bucket of peanuts and perhaps a drink from the bar. Toss the shells on the floor and sip your favorite import or domestic brew while you wait for your table. Select a seat outdoors on the patio during warmer months. What's good to eat here? Burgers are the staple. Thick, juicy and full of flavor, these American classics are the best in town. Other menu mainstays include chicken club sandwiches, pasta dishes and enormous salads. Bring your friends and a hearty appetite and enjoy an evening among the peanuts. Review © 2007, Wcities |

While you wait for a table, have a drink at the bar and toss peanut shells on the floor. The wait is often long, but the steaks are worth it. The chef starts with a lean cut of choice beef, rubs it with Longhorn's signature spices and grills it to perfection. The succulent filet mignon, the hearty rib eye and the ever popular t-bone are all part of the culinary repertoire. The signature entree, a huge 22-ounce porterhouse steak, is beloved by serious beef lovers. Non-beef eaters can enjoy chicken and seafood dishes. Review © 2007, Wcities |

When owner Bobby Nelson opened this Southern-style diner, he had no idea how popular a spot it would become. The restaurant offers five meat entrees and seven vegetables daily, all prepared fresh. You choose one meat and three vegetables for less than $5. The restaurant features pit-smoked barbecue every evening. On Fridays, try the famous all-you-can-eat catfish dinner. Depart from the ordinary |
401 Broadway Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 254 1892 http://www.merchantsrestaurant... |
The brick and glass exterior is a departure from the historic downtown design, and the art deco lighting highlights the wrought iron and copper fixtures inside. Patrons will enjoy the counter seats surrounding the open kitchen. The menu here is the same classic that has made Merchant's famous in the Nashville area: crab cakes, Five-Pepper Chicken and robust beef entrees. The express lunch is still available and an expanded children's menu has been added. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fine Dining in a Beautiful Setting |
618 Church Street Nashville, TN 37219 United States +1 615 259 4558 http://www.mortons.com/ |
Downtown business deals, marriage proposals and special nights out require elegant dining. There are few places more elegant than Morton's. Guests are greeted by a friendly hostess and directed to the comfortable bar to wait for their table. The bar is amply stocked with imported and domestic beers, along with fine wine. Once seated in the dark, wood-paneled dining room you will discover the real charm of this restaurant: the food. Steaks and seafood are impressive and served alongside fresh vegetables. Bread and salads complete an elegant, albeit expensive meal. Your evening will cost you at least $100 for two, but is well worth it. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Southern Plantation turned Restaurant |
1400 Murfreesboro Pike Nashville, TN 37217 United States +1 615 367 2777 http://www.neworleansmanor.com/ |
This old plantation house has been the home of the city's finest seafood buffet for over 20 years. Step past the tall white columns, through the double doors and into a piece of Southern history. The tall ceilings and wide windows provide a perfect view of the airplanes taking off from the nearby Nashville airport. It's a strange view from such an elegant establishment, but one glance at the buffet and you will forsake any other sights. Crab legs to lobster, shrimp to prime rib are at the ready. The price is a bit steep, but you can't find this much seafood at this price anywhere else. Dress is business casual, so you can be comfortable in jeans and a polo or a blazer and tie. Elegant steaks and seafood |
2800 Opryland Dr Opryland Hotel Nashville, TN 37214 United States +1 615 871 6848 http://www.gaylordhotels.com/g... |
You may not think of steak houses as romantic, but this restaurant inside the famed Opryland Hotel is more than a steak house. The rich wood accents and mood lighting do have a romantic quality, but you'll really fall in love with the food. Popular menu items include Filet Mignon ($22.95) and Prime Rib ($18.95), but you'll find New York strip, Porterhouse and T-bone steaks as well. Those with an aversion to red meat should try the fresh seafood and poultry dishes. A bottle of the house wine, a lovely chardonnay, runs $18, and the bar serves mixed drinks as well. If you are extremely health conscious or a light eater, this is not the restaurant for you. This place is all about beef, and lots of it. The largest steak in the house is a whopping 28 ounces, but it's not recommended for a beginner. Start with something more manageable, like the eight-ounce rib-eye or six-ounce filet mignon. Add baked potato and garden salad, and you have an outstanding meal for $13-$20. Texas toast, enormous slices of bread toasted with butter and spices, is served with every meal and is unlimited. Alcohol and soft beverages are served, too. Review © 2007, Wcities |
