Creative Pizza Designs |
1812 Hayes St Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 329 8098 http://www.davincisgourmetpizz... |
Pizza can be a work of art, especially when you have the right brush with which to paint. How about 30 different toppings to decorate the canvas? Pepperoni, oysters, basil, pesto, roasted chicken and artichoke hearts are all on your pallet. Want cheese on your pie? How about feta, Gouda, Swiss or cheddar? You'll need a canvas to paint on, and your masterpiece can be served on thick or thin crust, with pesto or tomato sauce. If you aren't in the mood to be creative, let the experts serve up one of their own creations. Non-dairy soy cheddar and mozzarella pizzas delight the health conscious, and the bleu cheese and spinach pizza is ideal for the adventurous pizza eater. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Old fashioned soda shop |
2111 Elliston Place Nashville, TN 37203-5203 United States +1 615 327 1090 |
Don't let the 'retro' décor at this diner fool you. The owner didn't redecorate to fit the current trend; he hasn't changed a thing since the shop opened in the 1950s. The great food and service that made this famous also remain the same. Burgers and shakes are the standard here, but you can also get a good 'meat-and-three' meal as well. While this Nashville landmark was made famous by the movie, "Sweet Dreams: The Patsy Cline Story" starring Jessica Lange, its popularity with downtown workers and Vanderbilt University students is attributed mainly to its casual atmosphere and delicious food. Delicious food and romantic atmosphere |
109 2nd Ave N (at Broadway) Nashville, TN 37201 United States +1 615 244 7900 |
It's right in the middle of the tourist section of town, yet the food and atmosphere is surprisingly original, unlike the trendy theme restaurants down the street. Sit down to a quiet meal, something that's hard to come by in this area, and take a break from your sightseeing. The sushi menu is extensive with over 20 selections including the signature Nashville Roll. Creative dishes like the sushi pizza with shrimp, avocado and crab served on top of a piece of seaweed. Teriyaki dishes and noodle soups round out the dining experience. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Old time speakeasy |
217 Louise Avenue Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 329 4349 http://www.jimmykellys.com/ind... |
Long ago, during the days when alcohol was prohibited throughout the United States, there was a little known place to go in Nashville for some of the forbidden elixir. Old-timers fondly remember the succulent steaks and warm atmosphere of this homey Southern restaurant. You can still come here for a delicious steak today. Toss back a beer or two and relax while the white-gloved wait staff attends to your every need. Dine on the outdoor patio or the glassed-in porch when the temperature allows. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Unusual Dining and Catering |
1239 6th Ave N Nashville, TN 37208 United States +1 615 242 2563 http://madplatter.citysearch.c... |
This 18th century house is the perfect setting for this fine restaurant. Antique tables and chairs are dressed with fine linen. The menu changes daily, another boon, so each visit invites a new experience. You may find tuna steak dressed in remolaude and flanked with crawfish beignet or salmon topped with tahini. Wickedly rich pates and assorted appetizers are not to be missed and a true Caesar salad is a perfect beginning. For dessert, do not fail to order the Chocolate Elvis, a chocolate confection worthy of its namesake. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Although a lot of top notch restaurants have opened their doors in recent years, Mario's is still a standout and should be your first choice for an important business dinner or romantic liaison. Comfortable surroundings provide a relaxed environment for entertaining guests and sipping wine. Distinctive pasta dishes and succulent chicken entrees are prepared with great flair. Reservations are recommended and jacket and tie are required. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Depart from the ordinary |
401 Broadway Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 254 1892 http://www.merchantsrestaurant... |
The brick and glass exterior is a departure from the historic downtown design, and the art deco lighting highlights the wrought iron and copper fixtures inside. Patrons will enjoy the counter seats surrounding the open kitchen. The menu here is the same classic that has made Merchant's famous in the Nashville area: crab cakes, Five-Pepper Chicken and robust beef entrees. The express lunch is still available and an expanded children's menu has been added. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Late Night New York style Deli |
1918 Broadway Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 329 6674 http://noshville.com/ |
You'll find an East Coast style delicatessen, authentic right down to the deli counter lined with Knishes, Pickled Herring, and Nova Lox (not to mention the bowl of pickles that comes gratis at every table). Smoked Fish platters, a bit expensive for breakfast at $10, are wonderful with bagels and cream cheese. The sandwiches are unique and pleasantly large. Each cost around $9. Pancake lovers will devour all the potato pancakes the chef can serve up, and eggs are served any style until 4pm. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Romantic Mexican restaurant |
3808 Cleghorn Avenue Nashville, TN 37215 United States +1 615 383 5200 http://www.lapaz.com/ |
If you are tired of chimichangas without character, fajitas without sizzle and quesadillas without pizzazz, step into a world of creative Southwestern cuisine. Nowhere else will you find quesadillas filled with salmon and pesto sauce or squash filled tortillas. In fact everything here is served with a dash of creativity, and it is a welcome change from ordinary Mexican fare. The spacious dining room is tastefully decorated in a Southwestern theme, and the outdoor patio offers a relaxing setting for sipping margaritas. Imported and domestic beers help quench the fire from the food, and the soft lighting and quiet music calm you down. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Authentic Mediterranean cuisine |
3001 West End Avenue (at 29th Avenue South) Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 320 7778 http://www.restaurantzola.com |
When you do find your way into this Mediterranean oasis you will quickly add it to your list of favorite places to dine. You will be thrilled with appetizers such as fried shrimp with chorizo and aioli verde, venison carpaccio, and assorted Spanish cheeses baked in olivebreadcrumbs. Next, dive into the Damascus duck—half a bird dressed in a plum glaze with plum-goat cheese-ricotta pastry and fall veggies. Or try the Egyptian bean pot, filled with lentils, favas and limas. Seafood lovers should definitely consider the salmon with lentils and mushroom kale ravioli. Desserts change each night and are especially rich. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Classic meat and three |
2413 Elliston Place Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 327 9892 http://www.rotiers.net |
Traditions do not come easy in this town, but some things never change. Take the menu: it is a standard "meat and three", a term given to restaurants serving a meat entree and three vegetables. However, its delicious Southern-style cooking sets it apart from the other buffet offerings around town. Fresh baked cornbread and dinner rolls accompany every meal. If you are really adventurous, try a burger. It is tasty, but your arteries may never forgive you. Review © 2007, Wcities |

An Intimate American Bistro |
3201 West End Ave Nashville, TN 37212 United States +1 615 298 3444 |
Couples love getting cozy in this charming bistro-style neighborhood restaurant. Exposed brick walls bedecked with contemporary art give the place an urban feel that local trendsetters appreciate. Health nuts dig the place for the healthy fare and focus on innovative veggie cuisine, although you will find your share of meateater classics like steak and pork chops on the menu. A favorite is "Tortilla Cats," a catfish fillet lightly fried in a tortilla crust with black beans, rice and salsa. Happy hour is M-F 4p-6:30p. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Romantic Italian restaurant |
1907 West End Avenue (at 19th Street) Nashville, TN 37203 United States +1 615 327 0148 http://www.valentinosnashville... |
No outside light finds its way into the house, which creates a dimly romantic setting. Intimate and private, this is a favorite choice for amorous couples looking for a night out. Enjoy traditional Italian cuisine featuring veal, chicken and pasta dishes, served with a Caesar salad prepared at your table. Lasagna is the house specialty, and it is excellent. The chef has no fear of extra cheese (low fat eaters beware), and the sauces are rich and spicy. An extensive wine list and other beverages tempt the palate. Review © 2007, Wcities |
