An Italian gem hidden in the streets of Brooklyn, Al di La is by far the best Italian restaurant. People wait for over an hour to find place to sit. The room is comfortable and has big windows, and the walls are covered in yellow wall paper. The regular ravioli stuffed with roasted beets and ricotta and coated with melted butter and poppy seeds is impeccably cooked. The tripe appetizer that is slimy and chewy and cooked in white wine, soffritto and tomatoes with grilled peasant bread. They have a great dish of pan roasted cod,wild striped bass or hake with hen-of-the-woods mushrooms and butter. Review © 2009, Wcities |
