Owner Barbara Smith personally sees to the satisfaction of her guests and the exquisite taste of her Southern dishes; as a result, both the food and the service in this upscale Theater District spot are consistently good. Piano music is frequently provided, and jazz bands perform upstairs in a charming rooftop setting. Pork chops with Fried Green Apples, Marinated Hanger Steak with Seasoned Mashed Potatoes, and Seared Tuna in Coconut-Curry Sauce are popular, as is the Sweet Potato Pecan Pie. A children's menu is also provided.
